Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Charts with "The People vs. O.J. Simpson" Special

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/11/14):

NBC (5.448 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) was the most-watched network on Wednesday with its mix of "Growing Up Fisher" (4.135 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8), another "Growing Up Fisher" (3.622 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8) and the two-hour special "The People vs. O.J. Simpson: What the Jury Never Heard" (6.233 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1).

FOX (4.395 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) however shared in the top demo honors with a new "So You Think You Can Dance" (4.395 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2).

Next up was CBS (5.003 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and its repeat lineup of "Undercover Boss" (3.973 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11), "Criminal Minds" (5.648 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (5.387 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.778 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) offered up repeats of "The Middle" (4.165 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4), "The Goldbergs" (3.516 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4), "Modern Family" (3.886 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3), another "The Goldbergs" (3.381 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and a new "Motive" (3.861 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12).

And finally, a repeat "Arrow" (1.116 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) and the season finale of "The 100" (1.653 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13) closed out the night on The CW (1.385 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.2 rating while "100" posted a 0.5 rating.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.1/8,; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5,; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," delayed by an NBA overrun, averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly," averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/12/13):

NBC (6.423 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) was the top demo draw on Wednesday thanks to its coverage of the "NHL Stanley Cup Finals, Game 1" (6.423 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1).

FOX (5.595 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2) then was a competitive second place with a new "MasterChef" (5.210 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) and a second "MasterChef" (5.980 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1).

Next up was CBS (6.444 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with a new "The American Baking Competition" (5.879 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) followed by repeats of "Criminal Minds" (6.294 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (7.158 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.047 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up its mix of "The Middle" (4.526 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10), "Family Tools" (3.732 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11), "Modern Family" (4.246 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)" (4.021 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) and "The Lookout" (3.878 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9).
