"THE TONIGHT SHOW," "LATE NIGHT" BEST THE AUG. 4-8 LATE-NIGHT COMPETITION

Fallon, Meyers Earn Wins in All Key Measures vs. Broadcast Rivals

NEW YORK - Aug. 14, 2014 - "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "Late Night with Seth Meyers" have delivered decisive wins for the late-night ratings week of Aug. 4-8

Fallon generated bigger audiences than ABC'S "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and CBS's encore telecasts of "Late Show with David Letterman" last week in every key ratings measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. Note that Friday's "Kimmel" was a rebroadcast.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, Meyers outdelivered CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in every key category and also beat ABC's "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour in all key measures. Note that Thursday and Friday editions of "Late Late Show" were delayed by PGA Championship golf coverage and are excluded from these averages.

Fallon's margins over Kimmel were +68% in adult 18-49 rating (0.96 vs. 0.57) and +50% in total viewers (3.510 million vs. 2.346 million). Versus Letterman's encores, Fallon's advantages were +113% in 18-49 (0.96 vs. 0.45) and +57% in total viewers (3.510 million vs. 2.229 million).

At 12:35 a.m. ET, Meyers' margins over Ferguson were +91% in 18-49 (0.44 vs. 0.23) and +51% in total viewers (1.481 million vs. 981,000). Versus "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour of 12:30-1 a.m., the "Late Night" leads were +46% in 18-49 (0.51 vs. 0.35 for that half-hour) and +16% in total viewers (1.701 million vs. 1.463 million).

At 1:35 a.m. ET, encore telecasts of "Last Call with Carson Daly" outrated CBS's "Late Late Show" originals in 18-49 (with a 0.26 rating vs. a 0.23).
