"Dancing with the Stars" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 13.2 million and 2.1/6 in AD18-49):

"Dancing with the Stars" drew a larger audience than NBC's "The Voice" for the 3rd consecutive week (by a best-yet 1.3 million - 13.2 million vs. 11.9 million). "DWTS" was up week to week in Total Viewers (+5% - 13.2 million vs. 12.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (+11% - 2.1/6 vs. 1.9/5) to its top numbers since its season premiere 7 weeks ago - since 9/15/14. In addition, "Dancing" improved from its year-ago telecast in Adults 18-49 (2.0/5 on 11/4/13). Building 5% from its first to second hour among Adults 18-49, "Dancing" led Fox's "Sleepy Hollow" from 9:00-10:00 p.m. for the 7th week running (by a best-yet +40% - 2.1/6 vs. 1.5/4). "DWTS" once again ranked as Monday's most social broadcast series (84,897 tweets).

"Countdown to the CMA Awards" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 7.7 million and 1.3/4 in AD18-49):

In the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's lead-up special to Wednesday's "48th Annual CMA Awards" broadcast, "Countdown to the CMA Awards: 15 Songs that Changed Country Music with Robin Roberts," spiked over the year-ago special ("In the Spotlight" on 11/5/13) in Total Viewers (+126% - 7.7 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+86% - 1.3/4 vs. 0.7/2).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 48% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
