Nicktoons Posts Double-Digit Increases with Core Kid and Boy Demos
NEW YORK - Jan. 8, 2015 - Nickelodeon's animated and preschool programming closed the first week of January (12/29/14-1/4/15) at the top across several key kid demos.
In animation, SpongeBob SquarePants was the number-one animated series with kids 2-11 (3.6/1.1M) for the week. It also ranked as the top animated kids program across all TV with total viewers (2.1M).
Nickelodeon's hit preschool slate swept the top three spots with kids 2-5. Bubble Guppies (6.0/705K) led the trio, followed by Dora and Friends: Into the City! (5.1/606K) and Wallykazam! (5.1/602K), respectively.
Additionally, Nickelodeon niche net, Nicktoons, posted double-digit increases with its core audiences, scoring a 0.7/90K with kids 6-11 (+17% over a year ago) and 1.0/66K with boys 6-11 (+25%).
