Monday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Stays on Top with "Voice," "Blindspot"

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/12/15):

NBC (10.665 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #1) held onto the top spot on Monday with new episodes of "The Voice" (11.722 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.2, #2) and "Blindspot" (8.553 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.5, #3).

CBS (9.595 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) likewise remained in second place with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (14.942 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1), "Life in Pieces" (8.365 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4), "Scorpion" (9.344 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #5) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (7.786 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9).

Next up was ABC (10.274 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3) and its mainstays "Dancing with the Stars" (11.758 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #6) and "Castle" (7.305 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #8).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.133 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up originals from "Gotham" (4.125 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #7) and "Minority Report" (2.140 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, the debut of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (0.928 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12) and the return of "Jane the Virgin" (1.056 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11) on The CW (0.992 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.1/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/3).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/13/14):

NBC (11.924 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.5, #1) was of course the network to beat on Monday with its duo of "The Voice" (12.974 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.9, #2) and "The Blacklist" (9.825 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.8, #4).

Second place then went to CBS (11.435 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2) and its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (15.632 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.6, #1), a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (11.865 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.9, #3), "Scorpion" (11.467 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (9.090 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #10).

Next up was FOX (5.540 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3) with originals from "Gotham" (6.239 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5) and "Sleepy Hollow" (4.842 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.7, #9).

Meanwhile, ABC (11.456 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4) served up fresh installments of "Dancing with the Stars" (12.534 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #8) and "Castle" (9.300 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.0, #7).

And finally, a new "The Originals" (1.337 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) and the premiere of "Jane the Virgin" (1.629 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12) closed out the evening on The CW (1.483 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the "Originals" delivered a 0.7 rating while "Jane" posted a 0.6 rating.
