Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: Another Week, Another "Empire" Victory

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/14/15):

FOX (8.591 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #1) was of course the network to beat on Wednesday with new episodes of "Rosewood" (5.013 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #10) and "Empire" (12.168 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.6, #1).

The silver then went to ABC (6.016 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and its lineup of "The Middle" (7.060 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #5), "The Goldbergs" (6.377 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4), "Modern Family" (7.815 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2), "Black-ish" (5.713 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.8, #6) and "Nashville" (4.566 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11).

Next up was CBS (8.299 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) and fresh installments of "Survivor: Cambodia - Second Chance" (9.061 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3), "Criminal Minds" (8.919 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #7) and "Code Black" (6.917 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11).

Meanwhile, NBC (6.548 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) offered up originals from "The Mysteries of Laura" (6.850 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #13), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (6.199 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T8) and "Chicago PD" (6.595 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T8).

And finally, week two of "Arrow" (2.467 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #14) and "Supernatural" (1.881 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.8, #15) on The CW (2.174 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the evening.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.6/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (9.291 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T1) was the most-watched network on Wednesday thanks to new episodes of "Survivor: San Juan del Sur" (9.315 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #4), "Criminal Minds" (10.753 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) and "Stalker" (7.804 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T7).

Sharing the demo crown however was ABC (6.512 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T1) with its mix of "Toy Story of Terror!" (6.269 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.8, #6), "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (6.281 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5), "Modern Family" (9.455 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1), "Black-ish" (6.916 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2) and "Nashville" (5.076 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10).

Next up was NBC (7.500 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) and originals from "The Mysteries of Laura" (8.517 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (7.270 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T7) and "Chicago PD" (6.714 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #9).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.385 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Hell's Kitchen" (3.660 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12) and "Red Band Society" (3.112 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #13).

And finally, a new "Arrow" (2.250 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14) and a repeat "The Flash" (1.631 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) closed out the evening on The CW (1.941 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.5 rating while the latter posted a 0.3 rating.
