August 2, 2016 - CBSN, CBS News' 24/7 digital streaming news service featuring live, anchored coverage, set a new two-week viewership record from Sunday, July 17 through Saturday, July 30, beating prior records set for breaking news and debate coverage. CBSN drew a record 13.85 million streams for its on-the-ground reporting and analysis throughout the Republican and Democratic National Conventions as well as its breaking news coverage during both weeks.

Additionally, CBSN engagement levels were high throughout both weeks, with viewers watching for 52 minutes-per-session on average, on connected TVs during the Democratic National Convention, up from 50 minutes, during the Republican National Convention. CBSN's average viewing sessions were again longest on Apple TV, where viewers watched for 115 minutes-per-session on average during the DNC, up from 95 minutes during the RNC.

"We are extremely pleased that the record demand for CBSN's full-day, anchored coverage continued through the Democratic National Convention, with viewing sessions reaching impressive lengths," said Christy Tanner, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CBS News Digital.

"As we look ahead to the ongoing election season, we are confident that more viewers will continue to turn to CBSN for accurate, unbiased, and in-depth coverage," said Nancy Lane, Senior Executive Producer, CBS News Digital.

Josh Elliott, Elaine Quijano and Vladimir Duthiers anchored CBSN's live coverage from Cleveland and Philadelphia, with primetime coverage beginning at 7:00 PM, ET each night. Coverage spanned from inside to outside the convention hall to give audiences deep reporting on the events and issues involved in the nominating process. CBSN also streamed its gavel-to-gavel coverage from both conventions live on Twitter in addition to CBSNews.com and the CBS News apps for mobile and connected TV devices.
