Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Holds Onto Demo Crown

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/20/17):

CBS (8.065 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) was still the network to beat on Friday with its drama trio of "MacGyver" (6.812 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.531 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) and "Blue Bloods" (8.853 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2).

Second place then went to NBC (3.583 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with an encore of "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders" (2.327 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.212 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5).

Next up was FOX (2.049 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with originals from "Hell's Kitchen" (2.817 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) and "The Exorcist" (1.281 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.397 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) served up new episodes of "Once Upon a Time" (2.516 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6), "Marvel's Inhumans" (1.983 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8) and "20/20" (2.693 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6).

And finally, The CW (0.622 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening with fresh installments from "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (0.638 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and "Jane the Virgin" (0.607 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11).

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (9.050 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) was the top draw on Friday with its trio of "MacGyver" (7.991 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (9.295 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (9.863 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2).

ABC (4.947 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was the silver medalist with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.365 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2), "Dr. Ken" (4.466 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9), "Shark Tank" (5.355 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) and "20/20" (4.072 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #8).

Next up was NBC (4.663 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with originals from "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (3.351 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) and "Dateline NBC" (5.319 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6).
