Primetime Preliminary Fast National Nielsen Data (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 am)
Here are the highlights of the seven ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/28/17):
FOX (12.234 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1) pulled into the top spot on Saturday with its coverage of the "World Series, Game 4" (12.234 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1).
ABC (3.445 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then got bumped to second with its weekly "Saturday Night College Football" (3.445 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2).
Next up was CBS (3.709 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) with its mix of "NCIS: Los Angeles" (3.042 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T6), "NCIS: New Orleans" (3.427 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T6) and "48 Hours" (4.659 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).
And finally, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (3.429 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) and a vintage "Saturday Night Live" (2.712 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) rounded out the night on NBC (3.190 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3).
In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):
· "The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special" has averaged a 3.4 rating, 8 share in households in Nielsen's 56 metered markets and a 1.4/7 in 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters from 11:30 p.m. ET to midnight.
· That made it the #1 non-World Series telecast of the night on the broadcast networks in both metered-market households and in 18-49 in the local people meters, ahead of all Saturday primetime programs on those nets besides Fox's World Series coverage.
· Versus the year-ago "Saturday Night Live" rebroadcast on the Saturday before Halloween, "The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special" maintained 100% in metered-market households (with a 3.4 rating vs. a 3.4 from 11:30 p.m.-1 a.m. ET on Oct. 29, 2016) and grew +8% in 18-49 in the local people meters (1.4 vs. 1.3).
· "The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special" led into the top-rated "Saturday Night Live" encore in seven months. From midnight to 1 a.m., an "SNL Presents: Halloween" rebroadcast averaged a 3.1/9 in metered-market households and a 1.3/8 in 18-49 in the local people meters. It's the highest metered-market rating for an "SNL" encore since April 1 (3.2 with host Alec Baldwin and musical guest Ed Sheeran) and the top 18-49 rating in the local people meters since March 18 (1.3, Casey Affleck, Chance the Rapper). The last time an "SNL" rebroadcast topped a 1.3 in the local people meters was Jan. 28 (1.4, Kristen Wiig, The xx).

FOX (15.056 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1) was the top draw on Saturday with its coverage of the "World Series, Game 4" (15.056 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1).
ABC (4.653 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then was a distant second with "Saturday Night College Football" (4.653 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2).
Next up was NBC (3.289 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with "Dateline NBC" (3.601 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and a repeat "Saturday Night Live" (2.666 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).
And finally, repeats of "Hawaii Five-0" (2.824 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T6) and "Criminal Minds" (2.457 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T6) plus a new "48 Hours" (3.993 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) on CBS (3.091 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) closed out the night.
In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):
· "Saturday Night Live" has delivered its highest metered-market household rating for an encore telecast since February 2015.
· The Oct. 29 "Saturday Night Live" rebroadcast, with host Margot Robbie and musical guest The Weeknd, averaged a 3.4 rating, 9 share in household results from the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and a 1.3/7 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
· It's the show's highest metered-market household rating for an encore since Feb. 14, 2015 (3.8 with an encore of the "SNL" series premiere with host George Carlin and musical guests Janis Ian and Billy Preston).
· The 1.3 in 18-49 in the local people meters equals the show's highest rating since April 25, 2015 (1.4 with host Chris Hemsworth and musical guest Zac Brown Band). "SNL" has only matched last night's 1.3 over that span with a rebroadcast on Feb. 20, 2016 (1.3 with host Adam Driver and musical guest Chris Stapleton) and May 30, 2015 (1.3 with host Cameron Diaz and musical guests Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars).
· National ratings, including viewer totals, for last night's "Saturday Night Live" encore are due from Nielsen on Tuesday.
· Note that "SNL" adds significant viewership via time-shifting, with the show's Oct. 1 season premiere growing by +3.897 million viewers overall going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" official-national Nielsens (8.297 million to 12.194 million) and by +64% in national adult 18-49 rating (2.34 to 3.84). That made it the most-watched "SNL" debut in 22 years (since Sept. 24, 1994, 12.201 viewers with host Steve Martin and musical guest Eric Clapton) and highest-rated in 18-49 since 2008 (4.94).
