Monday's Broadcast Ratings: Another Week, Another "Bachelorette" Victory

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (7/23/18):

ABC (4.940 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was the network to beat on Monday with originals from "The Bachelorette" (5.879 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) and "The Proposal" (3.064 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4).

The silver then went to NBC (4.852 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) with its duo of "American Ninja Warrior" (5.038 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) and "Dateline NBC" (4.481 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3).

Next up was CBS (3.193 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) with repeats of "Mom" (3.934 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #6) and "Life in Pieces" (3.090 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7) followed by new episodes of "Salvation" (2.578 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) and "Elementary" (3.489 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.170 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) offered up a new "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.556 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) and a repeat "9-1-1" (1.786 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9).

And finally, new episodes of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.463 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.255 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) alongside a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.065 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) on The CW (1.312 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) rounded out the night.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.8/5; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.0/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (7/24/17):

ABC (5.238 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) edged out the competition on Monday thanks to a new "The Bachelorette" (6.325 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) followed by the premiere of "Somewhere Between" (3.065 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).

NBC (4.986 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a tight second with a new "American Ninja Warrior" (5.677 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) and the launch of "Midnight, Texas" (3.605 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3).

Next up was FOX (2.262 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with originals from "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.758 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) and "Superhuman" (1.768 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

Meanwhile, CBS (3.563 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) opted for repeats of "Kevin Can Wait" (3.986 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Man with a Plan" (3.611 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Mom" (3.774 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Life in Pieces" (3.288 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) and "Scorpion" (3.361 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11).

And finally, a repeat "Supergirl" (1.072 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14), a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.009 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T12) plus a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.050 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T12) on The CW (1.050 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.
