Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Leads Demo Race; CBS Tops Total Viewers

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/25/18):

NBC (9.545 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) was the top adults 18-49 draw on Tuesday with its mix of "The Voice" (9.797 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2), the return of "This Is Us" (10.399 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1) and the bow of "New Amsterdam" (8.438 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3).

CBS (10.463 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with its respective premieres of "NCIS" (12.387 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4), "FBI" (10.077 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.926 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6).

Next up was FOX (3.039 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with the season premieres of "The Gifted" (2.625 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) and "Lethal Weapon" (3.454 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9).

Meanwhile, ABC (5.206 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up a special two-hour "Dancing with the Stars" (6.487 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) plus "The Real Rookies: A Special Edition of 20/20" (2.645 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (0.579 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and the penultimate "The Outpost" (0.582 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) rounded out the night on The CW (0.581 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.4/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/4 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (9/26/17):

NBC (9.825 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) was the demo champ on the first Tuesday of the new season thanks to "The Voice" (10.616 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2), "This Is Us" (12.643 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1) and "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders" (6.218 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3).

CBS (10.584 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) however was the most-watched broadcaster with the season premiere of "NCIS" (13.126 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4), "Bull" (9.929 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.696 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9).

Next up was ABC (6.763 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with the season finale of "Celebrity Family Feud" (6.006 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) alongside a two-hour "Dancing with the Stars" (7.142 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6) results show.

Meanwhile, FOX (3.365 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up the return of "Lethal Weapon" (4.266 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6), "The Mick" (2.805 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #10) and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.123 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11).
