Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Holds Onto Top Spots with Dramas

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/5/19):

CBS (6.738 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #1) was the top draw on Friday with fresh installments from "MacGyver" (5.639 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Hawaii Five-0" (6.723 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) and "Blue Bloods" (7.852 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1).

NBC (3.592 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) then was the number two network with its mix of "Blindspot" (3.275 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10), "The Blacklist" (3.942 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) and "Dateline NBC" (3.560 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).

Next up was ABC (3.485 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) and its combination of "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.069 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Speechless" (2.299 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10) and "20/20" (3.885 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.546 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) offered up a repeat "Last Man Standing" (3.128 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) alongside new episodes of "The Cool Kids" (3.424 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and "Proven Innocent" (1.816 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12).

And finally, The CW (0.537 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night with the series finale of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (0.612 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #13) plus the "Yes, It's Really Us Singing: The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Concert Special!" (0.462 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.1, #14).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (7.769 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the network to beat on Friday with new episodes of "MacGyver" (6.709 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (7.902 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) and "Blue Bloods" (8.696 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

Second place then went to NBC (4.133 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with a special earlier "Taken" (3.032 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.684 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5).

Sharing the silver was FOX (2.610 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with a new "MasterChef Junior" (3.524 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) plus a repeat "The Resident" (1.696 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9).
