A Father-Daughter Bond Like No Other: 'Forget You Not' Teaser Promises an Emotional Ride
"I'll stay by your side, just like you did for me then." - Cheng Le-le (Hsieh Ying-xuan)
Directed by renowned actress-singer Rene Liu, Netflix healing drama series Forget You Not reveals its teaser, featuring an unexpected yet powerful ensemble cast. The lineup includes award-winning actress Hsieh Ying-xuan (Born for the Spotlight, Wave Makers), veteran Golden Horse best actor Chin Han, Tracy Chou and Esther Liu (At the Moment). Wallace Huo (Light the Night), Wang Po-chieh (Eye of the Storm) and Chen Yi-wen (The Pig, The Snake and The Pigeon) also make a special appearance.
The teaser opens by introducing Cheng Le-le (Hsieh Ying-Hsuan), a modern woman navigating life in her 40s. Meanwhile, her father, Cheng Kuang-chi (Chin Han), is a quirky, free-spirited dreamer. From riding a bicycle to his daughter's wedding - only to get caught on a tree branch and go flying - to dancing on the street with headphones on or cracking dad jokes from his hospital bed, his eccentric antics and child-like personality leave Le-le worried, amused and exasperated.
Through a series of heartwarming and humorous moments, the teaser hints at the profound and moving father-daughter bond between Le-le and Kuang-chi, culminating on a poignant note. "It's OK if you forget. I'll help you remember," Le-le recites as she faces the challenges of her father's deteriorating health.
Co-starring with Chin Han for the first time, Hsieh describes him as incredibly approachable. She admits feeling nervous during their first meeting on set, unsure of what to say. However, after getting to know him better, she discovered that he had a wide range of interests. "Headphones, audio systems, bicycles, basketball, aliens - just pick one of these topics, and he'll happily chat away!" she shares.
Chin Han, in turn, bears high praise for Hsieh, calling her a confident and outstanding actress. He recalled a scene where she had to chase after a moving truck down an entire street. The shoot took 20 takes due to its technical complexities. "I watched from the side, feeling heartbroken, worried that she'd be exhausted. But when I asked her if she was tired, she just smiled and said, 'Not at all!' With such dedication to her craft, it's no wonder so many directors want to work with her," he lauds.
Set against a bustling city backdrop, Forget You Not explores the enduring power of memory within each family. Cheng Le-le (Hsieh Ying-xuan), a stand-up comedian and part-time convenience store employee, juggles her career with marriage. Though she dreams of a better future, she faces marital struggles with her husband, Chang Kai (Wallace Huo), and challenges with her father (Chin Han). These hardships spur her to embark on a courageous journey - one that redefines her relationship with her family, love and friendship.
Launching May 23, Forget You Not is a moving story about growth, understanding, regret, and letting go.
