(from Comedy Central's press release, February 2014) Comedy Central has renewed its latest hit series, the critically-acclaimed scripted "Broad City," for a second season, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central. The second season of "Broad City" will consist of 10 episodes. "Broad City" launched to critical acclaim on January 22 and is currently in the middle of its first season with new episodes premiering on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. The series, created by Jacobson and Glazer, who executive produce along with Amy Poehler, 3 Arts' Dave Becky, Sam Saifer and Tony Hernandez, and is co-executive produced by Eric Slovin, averages 1.2 million total viewers per episode and is pacing to have the highest-rated premiere season on Comedy Central since 2012 with Adults 18-34 and 18-24, Men 18-34 and 18-24 and Women 18-24. (Source: Nielsen via NPower, Most Current data) Courtesy of the collective brains of and starring Jacobson and Glazer, "Broad City" is an odd couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City, whose adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths. They're broke, flawed and don't shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them - they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.
