AGENCY, THE (Showtime) - Dominic West will guest on the upcoming spy drama as the Director of the CIA. (Variety.com, 11/4)
BAD ROMANCE (Netflix, New!) - Twenty Twenty Television is in production on a new documentary series for the streamer featuring "people who have been in relationships with romance fraudsters." No other format specifics or auspices were given. (Deadline.com, 11/8)
BIG BROTHER REINDEER GAMES (CBS) - The Eye is not proceeding with a second season of the holiday series this year. (EW.com, 11/4)
CARELL, LAWRENCE & TARSES COMEDY SERIES (HBO) - Phil Dunster will star opposite Steve Carell in the comedy series set on a college campus, centering on an author's complicated relationship with his daughter. No character details were given. (Deadline.com, 11/8)
CLARKSON'S FARM (Amazon) - A fifth season of the Jeremy Clarkson series has been ordered in advance of its season four launch. (@primevideouk, 11/5)
FALLOUT (Amazon) - Macaulay Culkin has joined the show's second season as "a crazy genius-type character." (Deadline.com, 11/7)
GILDED AGE, THE (HBO) - The show's third season has tapped the following actors to recur: Dylan Baker as Dr. Logan, "a family doctor who treats a number of high society families"; with Kate Baldwin as Nancy Adams Bell, "the older sister of John Adams (Claybourne Elder)"; Michael Cumpsty as Lord Mildmay, "a British nobleman who comes to dine at Sidmouth Castle"; John Ellison Conlee as "the successful, educated and polished businessman, Weston"; Bobby Steggert as "the famed artist John Singer Sargent, who has just begun his career painting the great ladies of society"; and Hannah Shealy as Charlotte Astor, "the married daughter of Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy), recently returned from an eventful trip abroad." MASS EFFECT (Amazon) - Daniel Casey has been tapped to spearhead the proposed video game-turned-TV series for Amazon MGM Studios. Cedar Tree Productions' Karim Zreik; Ari Arad; and EA's Michael Gamble will also executive produce. No other details were given. (Variety.com, 11/7)
NERD TABLE, THE (Peacock, New!) - Josh Greenberg, Jordan Black and Jon Haller have sold an animated series to the streamer and Universal Television "based on the trio's nerdy 90s childhoods." Will Gluck will also executive produce. (Deadline.com, 11/6)
OVERSTEPPING (CBS, New!) - Lauren Ashley Smith has sold a multi-camera comedy to the Eye: "Overstepping is set after a financial crisis, where a 50-something wild child moves in with her estranged 20-something stepdaughter, giving them a chance to rebuild their rocky relationship and lean on each other as they tackle life and love from two different sides of the generation gap." Two Shakes Entertainment's Damon Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow will also executive produce for CBS Studios. (Deadline.com, 11/8)
PHONY (Hulu) - Sam Nivola will star alongside Connie Britton in the comedy pilot about Sonny, "a teenager who wakes up in the hospital after a car accident to discover his mom (Britton) - his only parent and his best friend - appears to have been replaced by an impostor." (Variety.com, 11/7)
REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DUBAI, THE (Bravo) - The cable channel has paused said incarnation of the reality franchise after two seasons. (Deadline.com, 11/7)
SCAVENGERS REIGN (Max) - Co-creator Joseph Bennett has confirmed Netflix has passed on reviving the series for a second season however he released a concept trailer for what would have been in store for said run. (@joe_bennett_animation, 11/5)
SPY COAST, THE (Amazon, New!) - Lilla and Nora Zuckerman are spearheading a TV take on Tess Gerritsen's novel for Amazon MGM Studios: "Maggie Bird's idyllic life as a retired spy in rural Maine is upended when her former agency comes asking questions about her final mission decades prior. With the help of her fellow retired spies, Maggie is forced on a globetrotting mission to discover the shocking truth behind what happened on her last mission all those years ago." Field Trip Productions' Will Graham is also slated to executive produce. (Variety.com, 11/4)
TOKEN WHITE FRIENDS (CBS, New!) - Josh Greenberg, Jordan Black and Jon Haller are set to team for a new multi-camera comedy at the Eye in which "when a Black couple adopts a white child, they reach out to three estranged white college friends to be part of their village." Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment; Wendi Trilling of TrillTV; and Cedric The Entertainer and Eric Rhone of A Bird and Bear Entertainment will also executive produce for CBS Studios. UNTITLED COTTON MALONE PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Brian Young is developing a small screen take on Steve Berry's book series at Amazon MGM Studios: "An ex-U.S. Justice Department agent turned antiquarian book dealer, Cotton Malone continues to serve his country when secrets and conspiracies buried deep in America's past come to light and threaten its future. These action-packed mysteries take Malone on international adventures, rooting out enemies not only in hostile nations, but in the highest echelons of the United States' most powerful and clandestine cabals."
