"LIVE! WITH KELLY" ANNOUNCES THE TOP TWO FINALISTS IN "GRILLING WITH THE STARS" COMPETITION
New York, NY - July 30, 2012 -- Today on "LIVE! with Kelly," host Kelly Ripa and guest co-host Chris Harrison announced the top two finalists in the show's summer-long "Grilling with the Stars" competition. Actress and author MARILU HENNER and R&B artist ASHANTI are the two celebrities whose recipes are still in the running to win the coveted Golden Grill trophy and $25,000 for their charity of choice.
Since "Grilling with the Stars" kicked off in May, celebrity contestants including Lou Diamond Phillips, Kristen Johnston and Carla Gugino have appeared on "LIVE" and shared their favorite summer recipes. Viewers went online to the "LIVE" website, www.livewithkelly.tv, and voted on which recipes they liked best. The recipes of Henner and Ashanti received the most votes, and now the viewers must vote again to select the overall winner. On Friday August 3, the winner of "Grilling with the Stars" will be revealed and will receive the grand prize of $25,000 for her favorite charity and the Golden Grill Trophy. The runner-up will not go away empty-handed; she'll receive a $5,000 check for the charity of her choice.
