JANE LYNCH AND WILMER VALDERRAMA JOIN THE FORCE OF NEW ANIMATED COMEDY "MURDER POLICE" ON FOX

Voice Cast Also Includes Will Sasso, Chi McBride, Peter Atencio, Justina Machado and Jason Ruiz

Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch (GLEE) and fan favorite Wilmer Valderrama ("That '70s Show") will lend their arresting voices as series regulars to the new animated comedy series MURDER POLICE on FOX. From David A. Goodman (FAMILY GUY) and rising writer/animator Jason Ruiz, the inter-office workplace comedy series follows a dedicated, but inept detective and his colleagues - some perverted, some corrupt, some just plain lazy - in a twisted city precinct.

MURDER POLICE, scheduled to debut during the 2013-2014 season, also features the voices of Will Sasso ("The Three Stooges," "MADtv"), Chi McBride ("Golden Boy," "Human Target"), Peter Atencio ("Key and Peele"), Justina Machado ("Private Practice," "Six Feet Under") and Jason Ruiz.

Lynch, best known for her acclaimed role as GLEE's conniving cheerleading coach "Sue Sylvester," will suit up as JUSTICE, a self-righteous detective and working mother. Valderrama gets animated as undercover cop DONEL, who is in so deep that he often does things of questionable legality. At the center of MURDER POLICE's maelstrom is MANUEL SANCHEZ (Ruiz), a neurotic and nerdy cop who aspires to be a good policeman, but his efforts to solve crimes are constantly put in jeopardy by his own clumsiness and the incompetence of his fellow detectives. Making matters worse, his egotistical, bribe-accepting partner, TOMMY MARGARETTI (Sasso), a tough, rule-breaking "bad cop," can't interrogate a suspect without beating him up. Other detectives in the precinct include RANDALL HICKOX (McBride), a cop who would rather be doing anything else. They all are supervised by the perpetually annoyed Captain JOHN RUSHOUR (Atencio), a brusque, overweight old-school cop who expects failure and can't be bothered to even get out of his Rascal scooter.

Manuel's ex-wife, ROSA (Machado), is a public defender whose passionate defense of criminals is what initially broke up their marriage. But they remain bonded in the upbringing of their son, MARIO (Ruiz), a troubled teen who is less impressed with his father than he is by the criminals he catches.

MURDER POLICE is produced by Bento Box Animation (BOB'S BURGERS) and 20th Century Fox Television. The series is co-created by David A. Goodman (FAMILY GUY) and Jason Ruiz - one of the writers/animators discovered through the Fox Inkubation program. Goodman serves as executive producer and showrunner. Ruiz is co-executive producer.
