JOHN STAMOS JOINS USA NETWORK'S PROVOCATIVE DRAMA "NECESSARY ROUGHNESS"
AS A GUEST STAR IN MULTI-EPISODE ARC OPPOSITE GOLDEN GLOBE(R)-NOMINEE CALLIE THORNE
Highly Anticipated Third Season To Premiere Summer 2013
Emmy(R) nominated actor and producer John Stamos ("ER," "Glee," "The New Normal") has signed on as a recurring guest star in season three of USA's critically-acclaimed summer series NECESSARY ROUGHNESS opposite Golden Globe(R)-nominated Callie Thorne ("Rescue Me," "Californication"), Mehcad Brooks ("True Blood," "Desperate Housewives"), Scott Cohen ("Law & Order: Trial By Jury," "Gilmore Girls") and Marc Blucas ("'Knight and Night," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"). Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series is shot in Atlanta and will film 10 episodes for season three.
Stamos will play Connor McClane, the founder of V3, a sports and entertainment management company that has expanded into a global empire. This self-made man represents the superstars of today and the up-and-coming stars of tomorrow in every field: sports, entertainment, fashion and music. Connor has an ability to recognize talent and nurture greatness. In the wake of Dr. Dani's (Thorne) success with TK (Brooks) and the New York Hawks, Connor will do whatever it takes to get Dani into the V3 family.
Stamos stars in the NBC fall pilot "I am Victor" and is a recurring guest star on the network series "The New Normal." Television credits include "General Hospital," ABC's "Full House," NBC's Emmy Award-winning drama "ER." Stamos produced and starred in ABC's comedy "Jake in Progress" and "Thieves" and appeared in the Emmy(R) & Golden Globe(R) nominated adaptation of "Raisin in the Sun" for ABC. Other notable appearances include NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," HBO's "Entourage" and a multi-episode arc on Fox's hit series "Glee." Stamos has had tremendous success on Broadway having performed opposite James Earl Jones in "The Best Man." He has also appeared in the Tony(R) Award-winning musicals "Hairspray," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Nine" and "Cabaret."
Currently in development with Twentieth Century Fox, Stamos will produce with Neil Meron & Craig Zadan a feature musical set to the music of the Beach Boys. Additional producing credits include the Emmy(R) nominated ABC miniseries "Beach Boys: An American Family" and the highly rated CBS telefilm "Martin & Lewis." Stamos has also displayed his musical talents over the past 25 years while touring with The Beach Boys. Stamos is an advocate for Project Cuddle, where he serves as the non-profit's National Spokesperson and Chairman of the Advisory Board, and has been a supporter of the charity for over eight years. Stamos currently lives in Los Angeles where he recently received the honor of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
NECESSARY ROUGHNESS is created and executive produced by Liz Kruger & Craig Shapiro ("Miami Medical," "The Challenge"). Kevin Dowling ("Sons of Tucson") also serves as executive producer. Inspired by a true story, NECESSARY ROUGHNESS is a Sony Pictures Television and Universal Cable Productions co-production.
