BREAKING BAD (AMC) - The cable channel is reportedly mulling the spin-off series featuring Bob Odenkirk's sleazy but highly competent criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan and co-executive producer Peter Gould are spearheading the project, which may be formatted as a half-hour comedy. Gilligan told various publications last summer about the potential series, musing that he loves "the idea of a lawyer who will do anything to avoid going to court." (Deadline.com)

CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Scott Eastwood (Texas Chainsaw 3D) and Tania Raymonde ("Switched at Birth") have both been cast in the show's proposed spin-off revolving around the Windy City's police department. They'll play police officers named Nicole and Jim, however no other details were given. Said characters will be introduced in the show's season finale, with Joe Chappelle directing from a script by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt. (Deadline.com)

UNDATEABLE (NBC/Warner Bros.; W: Adam Sztykiel; D: Scott Ellis) - Briga Heelan ("Ground Floor") has been tapped for a role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about new roommates - man-child Danny Beeman (Chris D'Elia) and chronic over-thinker Justin Zip (Brent Morin) - who bond over their foibles with the opposite sex. She'll play Maddy ("the attractive waitress who is always attracted to assholes"), who works at Justin's bar. Heelan replaces Aly Michalka, a role which will be billed as a guest star due to her first position status on the aforementioned TBS pilot. Bianca Kajlich, Matthew Wilkas, Rick Glassman and Ron Funches also star. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "30 Rock" alum Alec Baldwin is the latest name to surface in NBC's late-night discussions (NYTimes.com); Warner Bros Domestic Television Distribution has cleared its syndicated newsmagazine "Extra" on stations covering more than 85% of the country through the 2016-17 season (Deadline.com); John Barrowman will drop by "Scandal" in a yet-to-be-revealed role (@ShondaRhimes); "Law & Order: Criminal Intent's" Alexandra Eames (Kathryn Erbe) will return to "SVU" on May 8 in an episode also featuring Emilio Rivera, Yul Vasquez, Cathy Moriarty and hip-hop artist 2 Chainz (TVLine.com); Reid Scott will guest on "Perception" as "a brain surgeon who helps determine the mental stability of a self-proclaimed murderer" (TVLine.com); Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and Leslie Jordan will both drop by the season premiere of "The Exes" (Zap2It.com); and Daya Vaidya and T.J.
