Bryce Harper on ESPN: "Bryce Begins" Special April 30, Two Nationals Games
Sean McDonough to Lead Unique Commentary Experience on Wednesday Night Baseball
Washington Nationals superstar Bryce Harper will take center stage on ESPN this week as the network airs Bryce Begins on Tuesday, April 30 at 9 p.m. ET, between Harper's Nationals appearing on Monday Night Baseball and Wednesday Night Baseball. Bryce Begins is a one-hour special from Major League Baseball Productions and 3 Penny Films which documents Harper's journey from a young teenager to MLB star. The special includes rare footage of Harper, his family and the years leading up to his MLB debut through the present day.
Additionally, on the May 1 edition of Wednesday Night Baseball, Sean McDonough will lead a unique commentary experience when he provides play-by-play for the Washington Nationals at Atlanta Braves telecast at 7 p.m. McDonough will be joined by analysts Mark Mulder and Doug Glanville, who will both be positioned near the dugout - instead of in the booth - to provide insight and perspective on the game from the unconventional vantage point. At the beginning of the season, ESPN announced that Wednesday Night Baseball would feature a rotating booth led by McDonough, with various analysts from ESPN's deep roster of baseball commentators contributing to the weekly telecasts.
The week will begin with the Washington Nationals visiting the Atlanta Braves on Monday Night Baseball, April 29, at 7 p.m. The full national telecast will include commentary by Dave O'Brien, analysts Aaron Boone and Rick Sutcliffe and reporter Tim Kurkjian. Nationals' phenom Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to toe the rubber on Monday Night Baseball.
Harper graces ESPN The Magazine cover
Harper is one of four athletes featured on four separate covers of ESPN The Magazine's "Mag 15" issue, marking the publication's 15th Anniversary, which hits newsstands Friday.
