MTV'S NEW SCRIPTED COMEDY SERIES "ZACH STONE IS GONNA BE FAMOUS" DEBUTS THURSDAY, MAY 2 AT 10:30 PM ET/PT

Rising Star Comedian Bo Burnham Makes His Debut as Co-Creator, Executive Producer, Writer and Star of "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous"

SANTA MONICA, CA (April 29, 2013) - MTV's "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous," is a new scripted comedy series starring comedian Bo Burnham as Zach Stone, a fresh-out-of-high school teenager who opts to pursue a life of fame and stardom instead of attending college. The series follows Zach, who hires a camera crew to film him throughout his daily life as a part of his quest to become an over-night celebrity - even though he possesses no real talent. From attempts to become a celebrity chef or a ring-tone recording artist to purposefully going missing, he'll try any avenue to get noticed and stop at nothing until he reaches fame. Chaos, awkwardness and embarrassment ensue in this clever and timely series that serves as a comedic send-up of today's current culture of instant celebrity. Recently selected by Judd Apatow as an "inspired comic doing great work right now" in Vanity Fair's January 2013 Comedy Issue, Burnham delivers big laughs in MTV's new half-hour, 12-episode series premiering on Thursday, May 2 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

On Thursday night's premiere episode, after his recent high school graduation Zach Stone decides to forgo college to star in his own, self-funded reality show. With all of his friends leaving for school at the end of the summer, he envisions a different path towards fame. As it just so happens, a chance to "headline" a funeral is his first big step. Check out a sneak peek clip here of Zach with his camera crew in tow, as he invites his high school crush Christy to a party (embed code copied below).

Additionally, beginning on Sunday, May 5, Bo Burnham will be embarking on a national tour of his all-new stand-up show titled "what." Presented by AEG Live, "what." is Burnham's first new act since "words, words, words" - the show that made him the youngest person ever to record a Comedy Central Presents special at 19 years old. Burnham's new show "what." combines music, stand-up and theater in a way that hasn't been seen before. For tickets and additional info visit AEGLive.com.
