COCKED (Amazon; W: Sam Shaw & Samuel Baum; D: TBA) - Sam Trammell ("True Blood") has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about "an estranged son who must return to work with his father and brother at his family's gun manufacturing company after a corporate rival, run by their uncle, moves to take them over." He'll play Richard Paxson, "the man who after years of torment from his brother and father, left the family business and has been trying to work his way up a marketing firm to no avail." (THR.com)

Television is reportedly shopping its veteran drama "The Mentalist" to other networks should CBS ultimately pass on a seventh season (Deadline.com); Todd Holland and Karey Burke's Dark Toy Entertainment have inked a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios, ending their run at Universal Television (Deadline.com); Larenz Tate has been upped to series regular on USA's upcoming drama "Rush" as "Alex Thomas, Rush's best friend dating back to medical school and one of the few constants in his life" (Deadline.com); Rob Wade will succeed Conrad Green as showrunner of "Dancing with the Stars" for its expected 19th cycle (Deadline.com);
