IDOL Top Three Revealed on the Next LIVE Results Show Thursday, May 8

In a dramatic twist, Ryan Seacrest surprised the Top five finalists - Alex Preston, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Sam Woolf and Jessica Meuse - with the option of either eliminating the lowest vote getter, or rolling last night's vote over to next week, when two contestants would be eliminated. In an anonymous vote, the finalists did not unanimously agree to delay the elimination until next week, therefore Woolf was eliminated after receiving the least amount of votes. From Bradenton, FL, the 18-year-old sang "Sing" and "How to Save a Life" on last night's performance show.

Next week, we celebrate the agony and the ecstasy of music's greatest theme as the final four take to the stage in the "Love: Break-ups and Make-ups"-themed performance show on Wednesday, May 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). The following night, find out who hits the right emotional chord and makes it through to the Top Three on Thursday, May 8 (9:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

Viewers at home continue to have five ways to vote for their favorite singer, including voting via Google Search when the IDOL vote window opens at the top of the show, by searching for IDOL-related terms. Fans are able to vote immediately after their favorites perform. After casting their votes, fans have the opportunity to share their votes on Google+, follow contestants, join community conversations or participate in Google Hangouts about the show.
