GRUMPY CAT'S WORST CHRISTMAS EVER (Lifetime, New!) - Tim Hill and Jeff Morris have set up a new original movie at the cable channel about "a pet-store cat that is perpetually overlooked and the 12-year-old girl who can communicate with her." Said effort is inspired by Internet-famous feline of the same name. No other details were given. (THR.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Brianna Brown has bowed out of ABC's new drama "The Whispers" and producers plan to recast the role, Lena, the photojournalist wife of Barry Sloane's Wes (TVLine.com); NBC has commissioned a full-fledged pilot for Jerrod Carmichael's comedy project, which filmed a presentation during the past development cycle (Deadline.com); Pamela Fryman has joined new CBS comedy "The McCarthys" as an executive producer/in-house director (Deadline.com); "Breaking Bad" alum Michelle MacLaren has inked a two-year first-look deal with HBO (Deadline.com); Raza Jaffrey and Michael O'Keefe are both bound for "Homeland" in recurring roles (THR.com); and Carol Mendelsohn is stepping down as co-showrunner of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" after 14 years (THR.com).
