BLANK SLATE (NBC) - Abhi Sinha is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Cornelius Kepler, "the tech specialist on Maya's Homeland Security team who uses his advanced IT skills to get whatever information they need." (Deadline.com)
CYPHER (Roku) - The streamer has picked up an expanded 13-episode second season of the series. (Variety.com)
DAILYMAILTV (Syndication) - CBS Media Ventures will formally pull the plug on the series this summer. (Deadline.com)
FLIGHT ATTENDANT, THE (HBO Max) - Executive producer Natalie Chaidez has signed an exclusive, multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Christine Ko is slated to recur on the upcoming fifth season as Lily, "a Gilead refugee who now is a leader in the Canada-based resistance movement." (THR.com)
ISLANDS, THE (Peacock, New!) - Kaz and Ryan Firpo have sold a "1960s crime saga set in Hawaii" to the streamer, billed as "a story about American Imperialism, the fall of a kingdom, and the changing of a way of life." Perfect Storm Entertainment's Justin Lin and Andrew Schneider as well as Universal Remote's Steven Yeun will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
MUPPETS MAYHEM, THE (Disney+) - Tahj Mowry has been cast in the upcoming series as Gary "Moog" Moogowski: "Described as a lovably awkward die-hard superfan of the band, he loyally follows them from gig to gig. Moog is an avid audiophile who knows his way around a mixing board. Since he is a walking encyclopedia of the band, he's often able to offer advice or guidance to Nora (Lilly Singh) when she's having trouble wrangling, communicating with or even understanding them. As Moog continues to work closely with Nora, he begins to hope that maybe she'll see him less as a goofy sidekick and more as a leading man." (Variety.com)
NOT DEAD YET (ABC) - Josh Banday, Jessica St. Clair, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Angela Gibbs and Rick Glassman will star opposite Gina Rodriguez in the single-camera comedy pilot. Banday will play Dennis, "Nell's old friend, former roommate and now current boss"; with St. Clair as Annabel, "an earthy, beautiful yoga studio owner and mom friend of Fiona (Ellis)"; Ellis as Fiona, "Nell's BFF since childhood and into their partying 20's"; Gibbs as Cricket, "Nell's beautiful, free-spirited friend"; and Glassman as Edward, "an uptight, smart environmental lawyer, Edward is Nell's landlord and roommate." SAINT X (Hulu) - West Duchovny will star opposite Victoria Pedretti and Josh Bonzie in the series as Alison, "a smart and charismatic young woman who is beginning to look at her own privilege through a critical lens as she vacations with her family at a beautiful island resort." (Deadline.com)
TRUTH BE TOLD (Apple TV+) - Ana Ayora has booked a role on the new season, which will also feature Gabrielle Union and Ricardo Chavira. No details about her role were given. (Deadline.com)
UNPLANNED IN AKRON (CBS) - Katy Mixon, Christopher Gorham, Cree Cicchino and Connor Kalopsis have scored the principal roles on the multi-camera comedy pilot. Kalopsis plays Tyler, "a fantastic dad, if not a little overprotective of his 8-month-old daughter;" with Cicchino as Brianna, "sharp witted, outspoken with very little censor"; Gorham as Jeff, "loving and supportive, he is the parent Tyler gets his optimism from - a nice balance to his more skeptical wife, Wendy"; and Mixon as Wendy, "Tyler's mom, and a barista at a coffee counter where Brianna works as a cashier." UNTITLED KILLING EVE SPIN-OFF PROJECT (AMC Networks, New!) - Sid Gentle Films is reportedly in early development on "a prequel focusing on the early life of spy Carolyn Martens, played in the main series by Fiona Shaw." No other details were given. (TheSun.com)
UNTITLED SHERLOCK HOLMES SPIN-OFF PROJECTS (HBO Max, New!) - Robert Downey, Jr. is looking to bring his film franchise to the small screen via two potential spin-off series featuring characters introduced in the long-in-the-works third film. Team Downey's Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell as well as Wigram Productions' Lionel Wigram will also executive produce the project for Warner Bros. Television. No other details were given.
