BONE/CENTAURWORLD (Netflix) - The streamer has pulled the plug on its long-delayed adaptation of Jeff Smith's beloved comic book series as part of an overhaul to its animation division. Said report also suggests "Centaurworld" won't be going beyond its initial commitment. Likewise getting the cut: an adaptation of Roald Dahl's "The Twits" (which is pivoting potentially to a feature film) and Lauren Faust's witchy "Toil and Trouble." No other details were given about the latter projects. (Yahoo.com)
FBI (CBS) - Shantel VanSanten will return as Special Agent Nina Chase for the show's April 26 episode and continue to recur through the season finale on May 24. She'll step in for Maggie (Missy Peregrym, now on maternity leave) as "a temporary member of Jubal's team - partnered at first with OA (Zeeko Zaki), but later paired with others as well." (TVLine.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Brandon Larracuente and Savannah Welch will both recur on the recently ordered sixth season with options to become regulars. Larracuente will play Daniel (aka Danny): "In the hospital he is known to charm doctors and nurses alike, even with his interest in somewhat controversial alternative medicine. Outside of the hospital, he is a bit of a lone wolf and an intriguing mystery to his co-workers." And Welch is Danica (aka Danni): "She is an Annapolis graduate, having completed medical school in the Navy. Danni is charismatic, ethical to a fault, and competitive both inside and outside the hospital. She's mature beyond her years and surprisingly comfortable defying authority, which is certain to stir up some drama." (Deadline.com)
LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ (NBC) - Laci Mosley and Kiran Deol will both recur on the comedy pilot while Kelly Park has been tapped to direct. Mosley will play Brookie, "Mayan's co-worker and best friend who always knows what's trending (and sometimes it's her feet pics)"; while Deol will play Dr. Pocha, "the veterinarian who employs Mayan and Brookie and is better at saving pets than talking to people." (Variety.com)
MY FATHER'S SON (HBO Max, New!) - Comedian Chris Powell is attached to star in a potential comedy series for the streamer "inspired by Powell's relationship with his dad." Powell is co-writing the project with Isaiah Lester. Both will executive produce alongside director Richie Keen, Trevor Engelson of Underground Films and Doug Banker for Five All in The Fifth. (Deadline.com)
POKER FACE (Peacock) - Benjamin Bratt is the latest bound for the top secret series from creator Rian Johnson. (Variety.com)
SANTA CLAUSE, THE (Disney+) - Matilda Lawler has scored a role on the film-turned-TV series as Betty, "Santa's acerbic, demanding Chief of Staff. She always the smartest elf in the room, tasked with wrangling Santa while also making sure the reindeer fly on time. Just a bit humorless, Betty is a job-oriented Elf." (Deadline.com)
SON IN LAW, THE (ABC) - Evangeline Young will round out the cast of the single-camera comedy pilot as Charlotte Walton, "Jake's (Chris Sullivan) only child, a smart, tough social-justice minded recent college graduate who is deeply in love with her boyfriend Ben, an EMT with whom she lives in a third story walk-up in the Bronx." (Deadline.com)
SUCK, THE (Amazon, New!) - Ilana Glazer is on track to topline and executive produce a new comedy series at the streamer which "asks the question 'What if the last year on earth was the best year of your life?' It follows Lydia (Glazer) to London, in search of an other-worldly end. it is further described as the upside of apocalypse, because when the things that have always mattered cease to matter, how fun would that be?" Ally Israelson is behind the project with Fulwell 73's Leo Pearlman, Jeff Grosvenor and Saskia Schuster, as well as Range Media Partner's Susie Fox also among the executive producers. (Variety.com)
WILL TRENT (ABC) - Erika Christensen will star opposite Ramón Rodríguez in the drama pilot as Angie, "a detective with the Atlanta Police Department who has seen it all but still can crack jokes about the bleak world of being a cop. She's also Will's on-again-off-again girlfriend. Friends with Will since they were both kids at a group foster home, they always helped take care of each other. Angie struggles with addiction and has yet to confront the dark traumas of her childhood." (Deadline.com)
