CBS was the most watched network in premiere week for the fifth consecutive year and sixth in the last seven while also placing first in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 24, week one of the 2006-2007 television season.

CBS had six of the week's top 10 programs including all three editions of CSI, the newly relocated COLD CASE and WITHOUT A TRACE and SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS.

CBS premiere week highlights included the strong fourth season premiere of CSI: MIAMI, Monday's top program which out delivered the highly promoted debut of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," the Network's entire Wednesday lineup including the series premiere of JERICHO, CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI: NY which placed first in viewers and key demographics, CBS's successful launch of its new Sunday lineup and the season premiere of CLOSE TO HOME, Friday's most watched program.

For the week in viewers, CBS (13.02m) outpaced ABC (12.28m), NBC (11.05m) and FOX (7.52m). Among viewers, CBS was first on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday while second on Monday, Saturday and Sunday.

For the week in households, CBS (8.3/14) enjoyed a +4% advantage over ABC (8.0/13), +17% over NBC (7.1/12) and +77% over FOX (4.7/08).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (5.1/12) and a very competitive third in adults 18-49 (3.9/11, -0.1 rating point or 90,000 adults 18-49 behind NBC). Compared to premiere week in 2005 (when CBS had the finales of BIG BROTHER 6 and ROCK STAR: INXS), CBS was up +1% in households and +2% in adults 25-54.

? THE CLASS (P) was second in households (6.9/11), viewers (10.48m) and adults 25-54 (4.6/12, -0.2 behind NBC). This is CBS's best premiere week performance Monday at 8PM since 2004 in adults 18-34 (2.7/09, 2004 - THE KING OF QUEENS) and 2003 in adults 25-54 (YES, DEAR) and matched last year's performance.

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (P) was second in households (6.8/10), viewers (10.48m) and adults 25-54 (4.9/11). HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER improved on its lead-in by +7% in adults 25-54, +6% in adults 18-49 (3.8/10) and +11% in adults 18-34 (3.0/08).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN (P) was first in households (9.7/14), adults 25-54 (6.7/15), tied for first in adults 18-49 (5.0/12, with NBC) and second in viewers (15.09m).

? CSI: MIAMI (P) was first in households (11.4/18), viewers (17.62m), adults 25-54 (7.2/17) and adults 18-49 (5.8/15). CSI: MIAMI beat NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" by +33% in households (vs. 8.6/14), +23% in adults 25-54 (vs. 6.0/14), +16% in adults 18-49 (vs. 5.0/13) and by +4.21m viewers (vs. 13.41m, +31%). CSI: MIAMI was the night's top rated program in households, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and was #1 in viewers.

? SMITH (P) (7.3/12, 11.00m viewers from 9:58-11:00PM) was second in adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).

? JERICHO (P) was second in households (7.6/12), viewers (11.66m), adults 25-54 (4.5/12, -0.1 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10, -0.3 behind ABC). This is the best regularly scheduled delivery in the time period since February 18, 2004 in households ("60 Minutes Wednesday"), January 7, 2004 in viewers ("60 Minutes Wednesday"), February 26, 2003 in adults 25-54 ("Star Search") and March 12, 2003 in adults 18-49 ("Star Search").

? CRIMINAL MINDS (P) won its time period in households (10.2/16), viewers (15.65m), adults 25-54 (6.1/14) and adults 18-49 (4.5/12). This is the best delivery for a first run episode of CRIMINAL MINDS in households, viewers and adults 25-54 since January 11, 2006, and best adults 18-49 delivery since March 8, 2006.

? CSI: NY (P) was first in households (10.7/18), viewers (16.11m), adults 25-54 (6.4/16) and adults 18-49 (5.0/14). CSI: NY beat NBC's series premiere of "Kidnapped" by +110% in households (vs. 5.1/09), +94% in adults 25-54 (vs. 3.3/08), +79% in adults 18-49 (vs. 2.8/08) and by +8.52m viewers (vs. 7.59m, +112%). CSI: NY is the night's top program in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS easily won its time period in households (9.8/16), viewers (17.43m), adults 25-54 (7.6/19), adults 18-49 (6.5/18) and adults 18-34 (4.5/14). Compared to last week, SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS retained 97% each of its household (from 10.1/17), adults 25-54 and viewers (from 18.00m) deliveries (from 7.8/21) and 100% of both its adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 deliveries.

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (P) (9:00-10:01 PM) was second in households (13.7/21), viewers (22.58m), adults 25-54 (9.5/21) and adults 18-49 (7.7/18).

? SHARK (P) (10:01-11:00PM) was second in households (9.7/16) and viewers (14.74m).

? GHOST WHISPERER (P) won its time period in adults 25-54 (4.2/13), second in households (6.5/12), viewers (10.33m) and adults 18-49 (3.2/11, -0.2 behind NBC) -- all behind a special NBC "Deal or No Deal".

? CLOSE TO HOME (P) was first in households (7.7/13), viewers (11.94m), adults 25-54 (4.0/11) and second in adults 18-49 (3.0/09, -0.2 behind NBC). CLOSE TO HOME posted its best households, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 delivery since 4/28/06 and best viewer average since 2/3/06. CLOSE TO HOME was the night's #1 program in households and viewers.

? NUMB3RS (P) was first in viewers (11.35m), tied for first in households (7.3/13, with NBC), second in adults 25-54 (4.3/13, -0.1 behind NBC) and adults 18-49 (3.1/10).

? THE AMAZING RACE 10 (P) (6.4/10, 10.57m) posted strong deliveries in both adults 25-54 (4.4/10) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). Compared to last week's first episode, THE AMAZING RACE 10 retained 96% of its adults 25-54 delivery, 90% of adults 18-49 performance and built both its households (+2%, from 6.3/10) and viewers (+4%, from 10.13m , +440,000 viewers).

? COLD CASE (P) (10.0/15, 16.27m viewers, -0.50m behind NBC) scored solid ratings in both adults 25-54 (5.6/11) and adults 18-49 (4.1/09). Compared to the same night last year (when COLD CASE ran 8:53-9:53PM), COLD CASE was up +14% in households, +27% in adults 25-54 and +32% in adults 18-49.

? WITHOUT A TRACE (P) was first in households (11.1/18), viewers (17.56m) with a 6.3/14 in adults 25-54 and 4.8/12 in adults 18-49. This is the time period's best delivery with a regularly scheduled program since 2/20/05 in both households and viewers (CBS SUNDAY MOVIE "Stone Cold"), 11/6/05 in adults 18-49 (CBS SUNDAY MOVIE "Category 7: End of the World") and 11/14/04 in adults 25-54 (CBS SUNDAY MOVIE "Category 6: Day of Destruction").
