ABCs BE UGLY 07 CAMPAIGN OFF TO A STRONG START WITH SUCCESSFUL UGLY BETTY MARATHONS ON ABC FAMILY AND SOAPnet

Be Ugly 07, ABCs pro-social campaign that asks America to resolve to be real, be smart, be passionate, be true to yourself and be ugly, just like Ugly Betty in 2007, got off to a strong start with cross network support on ABC Family and SOAPnet.

ABC Familys Ugly Betty marathon on Sunday, Dec. 31 (9:00 a.m. 7:00 p. m., ET) was the channels most-watched off-net scripted series marathon, with 1.2 million Total Viewers. In addition, the marathon ranked No. 2 in its time period with Women 18-34 and No. 3 in Adults 18-49. Versus year-ago time period averages, ABC Family was up by double digits in all key demos, including 25% in HH (1.0 vs. 0.8) and 25% with Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.4).

SOAPnet rang in the New Year with Ugly Betty on Jan. 1 (10:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m., ET).

UGLY BETTY ON ABC

Ugly Betty is TVs No. 1 new comedy of the 2006-07 television season with both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, and stands as the No. 1 new series this season among Hispanic Viewers watching English language TV. Ugly Betty has quickly given ABC a strong foothold during the opening hour on Thursday night, proving to be a self-starter in a very competitive time period and a highly compatible lead-in to Greys Anatomy. The series is a dominant No. 1 in the hour among Women 18-34, leading second-place CBS by double-digits. Ugly Betty has greatly improved the time period for ABC, nearly doubling its year-ago delivery in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

BE UGLY 07

Be Ugly 07 challenges conventional perceptions and stereotypes of real beauty and promotes self esteem and empowerment. For more information go to www.BeUgly07.com.
