NBC's COWBOYS-SEAHAWKS HIGHEST-RATED SATURDAY WILD CARD GAME SINCE 2003
NEW YORK � Jan. 7, 2007 � The Seattle Seahawks thrilling 21-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys last night on NBC drew a 17.2 metered market rating and 28 share, the highest overnight rating for a Saturday wild card game since 2003 (18.3/29 for Atlanta-Green Bay on ABC 1/4/03), according to Nielsen Media Research.
"We capped off the most successful primetime NFL season in six years with a thrilling playoff game last night," said Dick Ebersol, Chairman, NBC Sports & Olympics. "This was an incredible way to finish our first season of 'Sunday Night Football'."
NOTE: Seattle is excluded from Saturday's metered market average due to Nielsen processing issues.
NBC's Cowboys-Seahawks broadcast rated 10 percent higher than the primetime Saturday wild card game last year (15.6/26 for Jacksonville-New England on ABC).
The Kansas City Chiefs lackluster 23-8 loss to the Indianapolis Colts drew a 14.2/27 in the overnights.
