March 1, 2007 (Burbank, California) - The CW's "America's Next Top Model" roared back with its highest-rated premiere EVER in the target demos of adults 18-34 (3.5/10), women 18-34 (5.4/13), women 18-49 (3.8/9-tie) and total viewers (5.4mil), despite facing an extended 90-minute "American Idol" on Fox, according to Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Feb. 28.

Last night's debut also tied for the series second best premiere in adults 18-49 (2.5/6), behind only cycle seven's Sept. 06 debut.

The two-hour "Top Model" led The CW to a second place finish on Wednesday (8:00-10:00p.m.) among adults 18-34 (3.5/10), women 18-34 (5.4/13) and women 18-49 (3.8/9), behind only Fox. The CW also beat ABC and NBC in head-to-head competition in adults 18-49 (2.5/6).

The record-breaking return of "Top Model" also drove The CW to its highest-rated night to date in adults 18-34 and women 18-34.

"Top Model" delivered double-digit gains in the second hour, when the 13 finalists were selected and the first girl was eliminated, improving 30% in adults 18-34, 28% in women 18-34, 22% in adults 18-49, 27% in women 18-49 and 18% in viewers, compared to the 8:00p.m. hour.

The CW completed the February 2007 sweep stronger than UPN or The WB a year ago in Feb. 2006 in the network's target demo of adults 18-34 (1.6/4), improving 33% over UPN and 7% over The WB. In women 18-34, The CW (1.9/5) out-performed UPN by 46% and finished on par with The WB. In viewers, The CW (3.4mil) ended the Feb. 07 sweep ahead of UPN by +23% and The WB by 3% last February.
