ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" Leads the 10 O'clock Hour by 31% in Adults 18-49, Beating Second-Place CBS with Final Hour of its Original Movie, "Comanche Moon"

Sunday Primetime (7:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC took second place on Sunday in Adults 18-49 (3.9/9) to an NFL-fueled Fox, with an enormous overrun of the NFC Division Playoff Game (Giants-Cowboys) into the opening hour of prime. ABC held wide advantages over the other non-sports networks on the evening among young adults, beating third-place CBS by 26% (3.1/7) and fourth-place NBC by 179% (1.4/3).

"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

Opposite Fox's ultra high-rated NFL overrun during the 7 o'clock hour, ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" took second place in Adults 18-49, leading third-place CBS' "60 Minutes" by 22% (2.2/5 vs. 1.8/4).

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

A repeat airing of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" earned second place in the 8 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49 (3.8/9) to Fox's NFL-boosted debut of "Sarah Connor Chronicles," defeating CBS' original "Amazing Race XII" (3.7/9) and NBC's Golden Globes-oriented "Dateline" (1.3/3).

In Total Viewers (10.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.8/9-tie), "Home Edition" generated its strongest repeat numbers in nearly 1 year since 1/28/07.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Marking a season-high delivery with its top Adult 18-49 rating since last February (since 2/11/07), ABC's "Home Edition" moved ABC up into first place during the 9 o'clock hour, outpacing second-place Fox by 15% (5.5/12 vs. 4.8/11 with "Family Guy" and "American Dad").

Topping Fox's highly-promoted series debut of "Sarah Connor Chronicles," ABC's "Home Edition" stood as Sunday's No. 1 TV show in each of the key women demographics: W18-34 (5.9/14), W18-49 (7.1/16) and W25-54 (7.6/16).

"Brothers & Sisters" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" won the 10 o'clock hour across the key adult demos: AD18-34 (3.1/9), AD18-49 (4.2/10) and A25-54 (4.8/11). Among Adults 18-49, "Brother & Sisters" defeated second-place CBS by 31%, with the final hour of its original movie (4.2/10 vs. 3.2/8 - "Comanche Moon").

"Brothers & Sisters" produced ABC's top results in the time period in 6 weeks across the key adult demographics since 12/2/07.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has nearly doubled from just over 11% at the same point in 2006, approaching 22% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
