All-Star Romantic Comedy Delivers Record-Breaking Audience of Over One Million Total Viewers
New York � January 23, 2008 � Oxygen original movie "Husband For Hire" premiered to record-breaking performance on Saturday, January 19 at 8PM, surpassing the million mark among viewers with 1.1 million people on average tuning in (1.2 HH rating). The romantic comedy delivered strong numbers among key demos with 326,000 W18-49 and 397,000 P18-49 viewers, on average, tuning in.
"Husband For Hire" is the network's most successful original movie premiere ever, with a 47% increase among W18-49 over "Romancing the Bride," previously the most-watched Oxygen original movie. Compared to the average for the last four Saturdays at 8P-10P, the premiere of "Husband For Hire" gained +145% among W18-49 (326,000 vs. 133,000), +154% with W18-34 (117,000 vs. 46,000), +108% among P18-49 (397,000 vs. 191,000), and +170% on a total viewer 2+ basis (1,114,000 vs. 412,000).
A second airing of the film at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) also performed well, with 783,000 total viewers 2+/0.8 HH rating. The replay even surpassed the premiere airing among key demos, yielding 349,000 W18-49 and 464,000 P18-49. The success of the movie, made Saturday, January 19 Oxygen's most watched day ever among W18-49 (200,000), P18-49 (262,000), and total viewers 2+ (503,000).
In "Husband For Hire," beautiful businesswoman Lola (played by Nadine Velazquez of "My Name is Earl") gets more than she bargained for after hiring handsome stranger Bo (Mark Consuelos) as her groom. Television veterans Mario Lopez, Erik Estrada and Tempestt Bledsoe round out the supporting cast.
Written and directed by Kris Isacsson, the movie was executive produced by Tim Perell and Howard Gertler of Process Media.
Oxygen has seen increases in impressions across the board, having just celebrated its most watched year in 2007; the network's total viewership was increased by 19% on average. Original series "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" and "The Bad Girls Club" also celebrated record impressions last week.
