May 20, 2008 (Burbank, CA) - The season finales of GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL drove The CW to its second best Monday EVER in adults 18-34 (1.9/6) and women 18-34 (2.8/7) and women 18-49 (2.0/5), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Monday, May 19, 2008.

Against tough competition, GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL, which will remain a potent combo on the night next season, also scored The CW's best Monday EVER in adults 18-49 (1.5/4) and most watched Monday of the 07-08 season (3.1 million).

The GOSSIP GIRL finale climbed to its second largest audience EVER (3.0mil) and its best Monday performance to date in adults 18-49 (1.4/4) and women 18-49 (2.0/5-tie). GOSSIP GIRL scored its best teen ratings (2.3/8) since 11/7/07 and best female teen ratings (4.1/14) since 10/3/07.

ONE TREE HILL's season finale posted its best Monday performance in adults 18-34 (2.1/6-tie), total viewers (3.2 million) and adults 18-49 (1.5/4). ONE TREE HILL scored its second best teen delivery (2.4/7) of the season and tied its season highs in female teens (3.9/12).

Building to their climactic season finales, both GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL delivered week-to-week gains in every key category. Overall, The CW improved over last week by 19% in adults 18-34, 17% in women 18-34, 25% in adults 18-49, 11% in women 18-49, 9% in teens, 8% in female teens and 15% in total viewers.
