'Army Wives' Continues Remarkable Second Season Ratings Growth!

2008's #1 Cable Drama Among Women Soars Double-Digits Among W18-34, W18-49 and W25-54 Versus Last Year's Third Episode

For Third Straight Week, Series Highest-Rated Show On Cable Among Key Women Demos myLifetime.com Traffic Jumps 55 Percent

NEW YORK, June 24, -- Lifetime Television's smash hit 'Army Wives', the #1 2008 cable drama among women, continued its remarkable second season ratings growth on Sunday, June 22, at 10PM (ET/PT). The critically acclaimed series leaped 27 percent among W18-24, 29 percent among W18-34, 25 percent among W18-49 and 19 percent among W25-54 versus its third episode last year.

For the third consecutive Sunday, 'Army Wives' marched to the top spot among W18-24, W18-34, W18-49, W25-54 and W18+ in basic cable prime (8-11PM). The drama also out-delivered the broadcast networks among W18-34.

'Army Wives', the most successful series in Lifetime's 24-year history, ranks first versus all cable dramas this year in W18-34, W18-49, W25-54 and P18-49. Since its second season premiere, 'Army Wives' has reached more than 28 million P2+ viewers.

The water cooler drama powered Lifetime to #1 in Sunday prime across W18-24, W18-34 and W18-49.

Highlights of the third telecast include:

-- 3.75 million P2+;

-- 3.4 household rating;

-- 3.1 W25-54 rating (1,673,000 viewers);

-- 3.0 W18-49 rating (1,678,000 viewers);

-- 2.7 W18-34 rating (751,000 viewers); and

-- Traffic to myLifetime.com has increased 55 percent from Season One to Season Two through the first three episodes.

Filmed on location in Charleston, South Carolina, 'Army Wives' stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller and Catherine Bell. Mark Gordon and The Mark Gordon Company's President of Production, Deborah Spera, serve as executive producers. Nick Thiel and series creator Katherine Fugate also serve as executive producers. The series is based on the book 'Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives' by Tanya Biank, who serves as a consultant. "Army Wives" is produced by ABC Studios.
