BRAVO'S 'REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA' NO. 1 CABLE ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM AMONG ADULTS AND WOMEN 18-49 ON THURSDAY
Bravo Delivers No. 1 and No. 2 Reality Programs for Week Among Adults 18-49
Summer of 2009 Ranks as Bravo's Best Ever
NEW YORK, NY - September 8, 2009 - Coming off Bravo's highest rated summer ever, the network kicked-off the fall in style, delivering the No. 1 and No. 2 unscripted programs of the week among adults 18-49 with the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" on Thursday (9/3) and "Top Chef: Las Vegas" on Wednesday (9/2), according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" was the No. 1 ranked cable entertainment telecast of the day among adults 18-49 and women 18-49 on Thursday (9/3), beating all cable competition in these key demos including an original episode of "Project Runway" on Lifetime. "Real Housewives'" sixth episode delivered 2.22 million adults 18-49; 1,630,000 million women 18-49 and 3.06 million total viewers.
Week-to-date (8/31/09-9/3/09), "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" is the No. 1 ranked reality program on cable among adults 18-49. Versus the prior week's episode, the series was up 22 percent among adults 18-49 (vs. 1.82 million) and 23 percent among total viewers (vs. 2.48 million). Compared to its equivalent episode in season one, "Atlanta" was up 100 percent among adults 18-49 (vs. 1.11 million) and 104 percent among total viewers (vs. 1.5 million).
"Top Chef" also achieved new ratings records on Wednesday scoring a season high in all demographics and the No. 1 cable telecast of the day with 1.97 million adults 18-49. Versus the prior season's equivalent episode, "Top Chef" was up 48 percent among adults 18-49 and 40 percent among total viewers, with 2.85 million viewers.
Bravo's new topical series "Watch What Happens: Live" hosted by Andy Cohen continues to break records on Thursday nights (midnight -12:30 a.m.), with its eighth episode up double digits among total viewers. Versus the prior week, the series was up 9 percent among adults 18-49 (589,000 vs. 540,000) and 19 percent among total viewers (873,000 vs. 736,000).
For the summer of 2009, Bravo averaged 488,000 adults 18-49 and 784,000 total viewers and delivered five of the network's top 10 best weeks ever among adults 18-49 (#1: wk 8/17; #3: wk 8/10; #5 wk 8/24; #7 wk 6/15; #9 wk 6/22).
