CONAN TIES 'LATE SHOW' FOR THE WEEK IN 18-49 RATING, PREVAILS DECISIVELY IN 18-34
JIMMY FALLON IS #1 AMONG ALL BROADCAST NETS AT 12:35 A.M. IN 18-49 AND 18-34; JIMMY TOPS LETTERMAN IN 18-34 DESPITE 'LATE NIGHT'S' LATER START TIME

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 22, 2009 - NBC's "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" has averaged a 1.0 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall for the week of October 12-16. "Tonight" tied CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" for #1 in the time period in adult 18-49 rating among the broadcast networks.
Conan out-rated CBS's "Late Show" and ABC's "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in adults 18-34 for the week, posting a 0.9 rating in 18-34 versus "Late Show's" 0.6, "Nightline's" 0.7 and "Kimmel's" 0.4.
At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" was #1 in 18-49 rating over CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and ABC's "Kimmel." Jimmy Fallon also delivered bigger audience than Ferguson or Kimmel in adults, men and women 18-34, men 18-49, women 18-49 and men 25-54. In the valuable adult 18-34 category, Jimmy Fallon out-rated CBS's Letterman (0.7 vs. 0.6), despite Jimmy's later start time.
Versus the prior week, Conan was up 6 percent in 18-49 viewers and 5 percent in total viewers, while Letterman was down 5 percent in 18-49 and 6 percent in total viewers. Jimmy Fallon was up week to week by 22 percent in 18-49 and 13 percent in total viewers, giving him his biggest audiences through four weeks of the current season in both categories.
The median age of Conan's audience last week was 46.7, more than nine years younger than "Nightline's" 56.2 and 10 years younger than Letterman's 56.7. Conan's audience was even younger than the year-ago Conan viewership on "Late Night" at 12:35 a.m. ET (47.9). At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, the median age of Jimmy Fallon's audience (41.2) was 11 years younger than the audience for both Kimmel (52.4) and Ferguson (52.7).
For the week of October 12-16, Conan's average 1.330 million adults 18-49 trailed the 1.353 of Letterman; in total viewers, Conan's audience of 2.496 million persons finished behind Letterman's 4.196 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan's 628,000 topped Letterman's 434,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon's 900,000 adults 18-49 for the week beat Ferguson's 814,000; in total viewers, Jimmy's 1.485 million finished behind Ferguson's 1.964 million; and in adults 18-34, Jimmy's 506,000 topped Ferguson's 316,000.
