Nine Million Viewers Tune in to Justin Bieber-Hosted Evening of Premieres of Victorious, Big Time Rush and True Jackson, VP
NEW YORK - Feb. 8, 2011 - Nickelodeon kicked off its "Crush Week" with a special night (Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, 8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT) of brand-new episodes of Victorious, Big Time Rush and True Jackson VP, hosted by platinum-selling pop sensation Justin Bieber--drawing 9 million total viewers and beating broadcast and basic cable with all kid and tween demos in the time period. Victorious "The Wood" (8 p.m. ET/PT) scored 4.4 million total viewers and won its timeslot on all TV with all kid and tween demos. Big Time Rush "Big Time Crush" (8:30 p.m. ET/PT), drew 3.9 million total viewers and scored basic cable's top spot in its time period and on all TV with all kid demos. True Jackson, VP "True Fame!" (9 p.m. ET/PT) drew 3.1 million total viewers, scoring its highest-rated telecast with kids since 2009.
Victorious "The Wood" kicked off the night and won it's time period with kids 6-11 (9.7/2.0 million), tweens 9-14 (8.0/1.7 million) and kids 2-11 (6.8/2.4 million). The half-hour episode bested the competition by huge triple-digits with total viewers (4.4 million, +119%) kids 6-11 (+112%), tweens 9-14 (+129%) and kids 2-11 (+100%). The telecast also ranks as the week's top live-action program with kids 2-11 and kids 6-11 on broadcast and basic cable. "The Wood" follows the Victorious gang as they find out they'll be the stars of a new reality show being filmed at Hollywood Arts.
Big Time Rush "Big Time Crush" topped basic cable in its time slot with total viewers (3.9 million) and all TV with kids 6-11(8.8/1.9 million), tweens 9-14 (7.6/1.6 million) and kids 2-11 (6.5/2.3 million). The episode posted double-digit gains over last year's like time period and bested the competition by double-digits with kids 6-11 (+83%), tweens 9-14 (+73%) and kids 2-11 (+76%). The telecast also ranks as the number two live-action program for the week with kids 2-11 and kids 6-11 (behind only Victorious). "Big Time Crush," follows Kendall and Jo as they help Carlos find a date, and Logan flirts with a new girl while still confused about his feeling for Camille. James wants to help Katie get closer to her new crush, but becomes like an overprotective father instead.
True Jackson, VP "True Fame!" closed the night with 3.1 million total viewers and scored the top spot in its time period with kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. The episode also posted double-digit gains over last year with all kid and tween demos averaging a 7.0//1.5 million K6-11 (+30%), 5.9/1.3 million T9-14 (+31%) and 5.1/1.8 million K2-11 (+28%). In "True Fame!" after a newspaper article is written about True, she gets a glimpse of what it feels like to be famous when actor Leon Thomas invites her to an awards show. However this sudden rise in popularity makes Jimmy jealous and puts Jimmy and True's relationship in jeopardy.
Led by premieres of Nickelodeon's hit live-action roster the network closed the week (1/31/11 - 2/6/11) averaging 2.4 million total viewers, a 3.7/1.3 million K2-11; a 3.2/693,000 K6-11; a 2.3/499,000 T9-14; and bested its nearest competitor by double-digits with kids 2-11 (+28%), kids 6-11 (+10%) and total viewers (+33%). The net's weekly win was also fueled by Bubble Guppies, the latest addition to Nick's hit preschool slate, which posted impressive increases over its premiere week average with kids 2-5 (+9%) and total viewers (+14%). For the week the series averaged a 7.4/1.0 million K2-5 and 2.1 million total viewers.
