ABC's "Modern Family" Emerges as the Week's #1 Scripted Show In Young Adults Via Time-Shifted Viewing
DVR Playback for the week of 2/21/11 (Week #23):
· Based on Nielsen's final rankings, ABC's "Modern Family" emerged as TV's #1 scripted show for the week in Adults 18-49, soaring from a 4.1 rating in the first-reported numbers to a 6.2 rating in the playback finals. Initially in the Live + Same Day statistics, "Modern Family" ranked as TV's #3 scripted show for the week in the key young adult sales demo and moved up to #1 in the Live + 7 Days statistics, leaping over Fox's "Glee" (5.5) and CBS' "NCIS" (5.3).
· ABC had 4 shows gain more than 2.0 million viewers from their initially reported totals via time-shifted viewing, including the week's biggest overall gainer: "Modern Family" (+4.05 million), "Grey's Anatomy" (+2.87 million), "Castle" (+2.44 million) and "Private Practice" (+2.12 million).
· Among Adults 18-49, ABC saw 3 series add on a full rating point over their initially reported numbers: "Modern Family" (4.1 to 6.2 - +2.1 rating), "Grey's Anatomy" (3.4 to 4.8 - +1.4 rating) and "Private Practice" (2.3 to 3.4 - +1.1 rating).
