Featuring animated holiday specials, "You Deserve It" and a repeat "Castle," ABC produced substantial year-over-year gains on Monday, increasing over the same night last year (12/20/10) by 5% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 3.8 million) and by 43% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.7/2). In fact, it was the Network's 4th straight Monday to deliver year-to-year Adult 18-49 growth on the night.

"Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" finished second against its broadcast competition with Teens 12-17 (1.0/4) and ranked a strong No. 1 with Kids 2-11 (2.2/7).

· The animated special delivered big year-over-year growth for ABC in the half-hour, outperforming original programming on the same night last year by 25% in viewers (4.5 million vs. 3.6 million) and by 160% in young adults (1.3/4 vs. 0.5/2).

"A Chipmunk Christmas" (8:30-9:00 p.m.)

Building on its lead-in at 8:30 p.m., ABC's special "A Chipmunk Christmas" earned second opposite its network rivals with Teens 12-17 (1.2/4), while ranking No. 1 overall with Kids 2-11 (2.9/9). It was also the top-rated broadcast show of the evening in Kids 2-11.

· Like its lead-in, "A Chipmunk Christmas" generated huge gains over original programming in the half-hour a year ago, jumping by 41% in viewers (4.5 million vs. 3.2 million) and by 160% in young adults (1.3/3 vs. 0.5/1).

Tuesday

With repeat comedies from 8:00-10:00 p.m. ("Last Man Standing"/"Last Man Standing"/"The Middle"/"Suburgatory") and an encore "Body of Proof" at 10:00 p.m., ABC was up sharply over the year-ago night (12/21/10) in Total Viewers (+24% - 4.6 million vs. 3.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (+38% - 1.1/3 vs. 0.8/3).

"Last Man Standing" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

During the 8 o'clock hour, ABC's back-to-back replays of "Last Man Standing" beat out Fox's encore "Glee" by 2.3 million viewers (5.5 million vs. 3.2 million) and by 27% in Adults 18-49 (1.4/4 vs. 1.1/3).

· ABC's "Last Man Standing" once again finished as Tuesday's No. 1 most-watched comedy. In fact, both episodes of "Last Man" towered over Fox's "Glee"-led "New Girl" with Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. The first episode of "Last Man" (5.6 million and 1.3/4 at 8:00 p.m.) more than doubled the overall audience of "New Girl" (2.8 million and 1.1/3 at 9:00 p.m.) and the second episode of the ABC freshman comedy (5.4 million and 1.5/4 at 8:30 p.m.) outdelivered the Fox freshman comedy by 36% in Adults 18-49.

Wednesday

With its all-repeat lineup ("The Middle"/"Suburgatory"/"Modern Family"/"Happy Endings"/"Revenge") facing Fox's all-original lineup ("The X Factor" Wednesday finale/"I Hate My Teenage Daughter") and a mix of original and repeat programming on the other nets, ABC (1.4/4) beat out CBS by 8% (1.3/4) and NBC by 17% (1.2/4) on Wednesday night among Adults 18-49. ABC's repeat "Modern Family" finished as Wednesday's No. 1 scripted TV show among Adults 18-49, notably topping Fox's "The X Factor"-fueled "I Hate My Teenage Daughter."

· ABC was up over the same Wednesday last year by 8% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/4 on 12/22/10).

· During the 8 o'clock hour, ABC's replays of "The Middle" and "Suburgatory" outperformed CBS' original holiday special ("A Home for the Holidays with Martina McBride") by wide margins with Total Viewers (+24% - 5.1 million vs. 4.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+88% - 1.5/5 vs. 0.8/2).

· For the 2nd week running ABC's repeat comedy beat out Fox's "The X Factor"-driven original comedy on Wednesday, as "Modern Family" at 9:00 p.m. outdelivered Fox's "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" at 9:30 p.m. in both viewers (+8% - 6.4 million vs. 5.9 million) and young adults (+10% - 2.2/6 vs. 2.0/6).

· ABC's "Happy Endings" scored the series' 2nd-strongest-ever repeat performance with Total Viewers (3.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.4/4).

Friday

Featuring encores of its holiday specials from 8:00-10:00 p.m. leading into a "20/20" Christmas special at 10:00 p.m., ABC was No. 1 versus its network rivals on Friday evening in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4).

· ABC produced big year-over-year gains on Friday, growing over the same night last year (12/24/10) by 35% in Total Viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.1 million) and by 22% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 0.9/3).

"Shrek the Halls" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

ABC's second rebroadcast this year of "Shrek the Halls" stood as the No. 1 program in the 8 o'clock half-hour in Adults 18-49, topping an original telecast of NBC's "Chuck" by 50% (1.5/5 vs. 1.0/4).

· The broad-appealing holiday special was the top-rated broadcast program in the time slot in Women 18-49, Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11.

"Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation" (8:30-9:00 p.m.)

At 8:30 p.m., a special replay of ABC's "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation" topped its network rivals in Adults 18-49, leading runner-up NBC's "Chuck" by 10% (1.1/4 vs. 1.0/3).

"Disney Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs. Nice-12/23" (9:00-9:30 p.m.)

At 9:00 p.m., an encore airing of "Disney Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs. Nice" led its network rivals in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4), beating its repeat competition on CBS by 22% ("CSI: New York" = 0.9/3), NBC by 38% ("Grimm" = 0.8/3) and Fox by 120% ("Fringe" = 0.5/2).

· "Prep & Landing 2" registered as the No. 1 broadcast program of the night in Kids 2-11.

"20/20" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC's "20/20" was the 2nd-most-watched program overall in the 10 o'clock hour, outdrawing its NBC newsmagazine competition ("Dateline") by 52% in Total Viewers (4.7 million vs. 3.1 million). In addition, the ABC newsmagazine beat the NBC newsmagazine by 25% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.8/3) and by 27% in Adults 25-54 (1.4/4 vs. 1.1/3). "20/20" featured Barbara Walters' only joint network television interview this year with President and Mrs. Obama. In addition to the personal interview, Mrs. Obama gave Walters a tour of the White House Christmas decorations, which highlighted the extraordinary sacrifices of military families.

· "20/20" was up over the prior week by 1.0 million viewers (4.7 million vs. 3.7 million), by 11% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.9/3) and by 17% in Adults 25-54 (1.4/4 vs. 1.2/3).

Sunday

Featuring the final hour of the NBA Opening Day Game (Chicago at L.A.), leading into the animated and theatrical versions of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," ABC was the 2nd-most-watched network on Christmas Day (5.5 million), behind only NBC with "Sunday Night Football" (Chicago at Green Bay). The Net was also No. 2 on Sunday evening in Adults 18-49 (2.0/7), Men 18-49, Women 18-49 and Teens 12-17.

"Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (8:05-8:35 p.m.)

ABC's second rebroadcast this year of "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" took second place in its half-hour with Adults 18-49 (1.4/5), beating out Fox's repeat animated comedy ("The Simpsons" = 0.8/3) by 75% and CBS' replay "CSI" by 100% (0.7/2). The animated holiday special also finished as the No. 2 broadcast program in its slot with Teens 12-17 (1.0/4) and Kids 2-11 (3.1/9).

"ABC Sunday Movie of the Week" (8:35-11:00 p.m.)

From 8:35-11:00 p.m., ABC's rebroadcast of the theatrical "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" ranked second in its time period in Adults 18-49 (1.1/3), beating Fox repeat comedies (8:30-10:00 p.m.) by 22% (0.9/3) and CBS' repeat dramas by 57% (0.7/2).

· The family-favorite movie was also No. 2 in its time slot with Adults 25-54, Women 18-49 and Kids 2-11.
