JAY TOPS HIS ABC AND CBS TIME-PERIOD COMPETITION IN ADULTS 18-49 AND TOTAL VIEWERS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 20, 2012 - NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" has delivered #1 rankings in viewers 18-49 and total viewers for the week of January 9-13, generating bigger audiences in adults 18-49 and total viewers than its time-period competition of CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" also ranked #1 ahead of CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Kimmel" in viewers 18-49, total viewers and most other key categories.

Through the first 17 weeks of the season, "Tonight" has increased its total-viewer margin over "Late Show" to 13 percent (3.742 million vs. 3.308 million), up from the year-ago season-to-date advantage of 8 percent. Jimmy Fallon has established a total-viewer lead over "Late Late Show" this season of 16 percent (1.800 million vs. 1.556 million), after trailing by 0.2 percent one year ago. Jimmy has also increased his season-to-date lead over "Late Late Show" in adults 18-34, to 48 percent (300,000 vs. 203,000) up from last year's 30 percent, and in adults 25-54, up to 10 percent (882,000 vs. 802,000) up from 4 percent at this point last season.
