FX Animated Comedy Series "Archer" Records Its Most-Watched Season Ever

Season 3 Posts Significant Double-Digit Gains vs. Season 2 In Every Category

Season 3 Finale Is the Most-Watched Episode of Archer Ever

LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2012 -- FX's critically acclaimed animated comedy series Archer has officially graduated from cult hit to cable hit. With lines like "I'm looking for a terrorist and an ocelot," how could it not? Season three of Archer recorded its highest viewership ever, posting significant double-digit increases across all demos versus season two.

On a weekly multi-run basis, Archer averaged 3.19 million Total Viewers, 2.43 million Adults 18-49 and 1.54 million Adults 18-34. This was Archer's most-watched regular season ever across every key demo, with growth ranging from +24% to +56% over its prior season. On a first-run basis, Archer averaged 1.9 million Total Viewers, 1.49 million Adults 18-49 and 976,000 Adults 18-34 marking gains of +24%, +37% and +54% in those categories respectively compared to Season 2 averages. On a Live+7 basis, Archer's Season 3 finale was the series' most-watched telecast ever in Total Viewers (2.12 million), Adults 18-49 (1.72 million), and Adults 18-34 (1.13 million).

Last month, FX ordered 13 episodes for Archer's fourth season.

Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillance is daunting and dangerous, every covert operation and global crisis is actually just another excuse for the ISIS staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain.

The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the highly skilled and incredibly vain master spy "Sterling Archer"; Aisha Tyler as Archer's fellow agent and ex-girlfriend "Lana Kane"; Jessica Walter as Archer's domineering mother and the director of ISIS, "Malory Archer"; Chris Parnell as the easily intimidated comptroller-turned ISIS agent "Cyril Figgis"; Judy Greer as Malory's loquacious secretary, "Cheryl"; Amber Nash as the discordant director of human resources for ISIS, "Pam Poovey"; Adam Reed as the gay voice of reason at ISIS, "Ray Gillette"; Lucky Yates as ISIS's possibly mad scientist, "Krieger"; and George Coe as Archer's elderly and always exploited butler, "Woodhouse. Archer was created by Adam Reed and Floyd County Productions and is executive produced by Reed and Matthew Thompson. The show is produced by FX Productions.
