"60 MINUTES" TRIBUTE TO MIKE WALLACE MAKES THE TOP 10
Hour Devoted to the Late Newsman Was Sunday's Most-Watched Primetime Program
The hour-long tribute to its founding correspondent Mike Wallace put "60 MINUTES" on Nielsen's Top 10 list, finishing at #8 for the week.
The broadcast drew 11.03 million viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for April 15. It also ranked #8 in households, scoring a 7.2/13 rating and share. The Wallace hour was Sunday's top primetime program in both those categories.
The program won its time period in adults 25-54 (2.4/07), up +14 percent over the same night last year (2.1/06). Sunday's broadcast was also up +23 percent from last year in adults 35-54 (3.2/08 from 2.6/07).
The increase in those key demographics is part of a trend for 60 MINUTES, which is up +6 percent in adults 25-54 and +5 percent in adults 35-54 (Boomers) season to date.
"Mike Wallace" was a worldwide trending topic on Twitter Sunday night.
The tribute to Wallace, who died at the age of 93 on April 7, consisted of interviews with him about his life and his work conducted by the 60 MINUTES correspondents with whom he worked.
