ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Soars to a 4-Week High in Adults 18-49

Some early points on Jimmy Kimmel Live's numbers, ahead of the regular press release:

During the week of June 3, 2013, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live delivered its best performance among Adults 18-49 in 4 weeks (since w/o 5/6/13), despite airing repeat telecasts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. JKL was up over the year-ago week (which consisted of 1 repeat and 4 original telecasts) by 32% among young adults. In fact, this week marked JKL's 22nd consecutive week of year-over-year growth in Adults 18-49.

· Thursday's telecast of JKL (on 6/6/13), which featured guest Will Smith, was the show's strongest regular telecast on any night in over 4 years among Adults 18-49 - since Monday, 3/2/09. On Thursday night, JKL was the #1 talk show in late-night in the key young adult demo, holding a 40% advantage over runner-up NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

· Despite airing only 2 original telecasts during the week, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live outdelivered 4 original telecasts of CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman by 9% in Adults 18-49 and by 5% in Adults 18-34. JKL beat Letterman in Adults 18-49 on both of JKL's original telecasts: Tuesday +16% and Thursday +61%.

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the week of June 3, 2013, ABC was up by 6% in Total Viewers (2.027 million vs. 1.915 million) and by 15% in Adults 18-49 (737,000 vs. 641,000) to hit a 4-week high in late-night among young adults - since the week of 5/4/13.

· ABC beat CBS by 4% in Total Viewers (2.027 million vs. 1.941 million) and by 19% in Adults 18-49 (737,000 vs. 621,000), increasing its demo advantage for the 2nd week in a row.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (M-F 11:35 p.m.)

During the week of June 3, 2013, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" delivered its best performance among Adults 18-49 (842,000) in 4 weeks (since w/o 5/6/13), despite airing repeat telecasts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. "JKL" was up over the year-ago week (which consisted of 1 repeat and 4 original telecasts) by 32% among young adults (638,000 on w/o 6/4/12). Further, "JKL" beat "Letterman" in Adults 18-49 on both of "JKL's" original telecasts: Tuesday +16% (876,000 vs. 755,000) and Thursday +61% (1.339 million vs. 831,000).

"Nightline" (M-F 12:35 a.m.)

For the week of June 3, 2013, ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.455 million Total Viewers, 646,000 Adults 25-54 and 515,000 Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" posted an across-the-board victory over CBS' "The Late Late Show:" Total Viewers (+169,000), Adults 25-54 (+45,000) and Adults 18-49 (+37,000). In fact, "Nightline" has beaten "The Late Late Show" in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 for the 8th straight week and in 7 of the last 8 in Adults 25-54.

"Nightline" was up week to week in Adults 25-54 (+6%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%) - 610,000 and 477,000, respectively, on w/o 5/27/13.
