"48 Hours: Long Island Serial Killer" Was Saturday's #1 Broadcast in Viewers and Households

"48 HOURS: LONG ISLAND SERIAL KILLER" WAS SATURDAY'S #1 BROADCAST IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS

48 HOURS: "Long Island Serial Killer" was Saturday's #1 program with viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for July 20, 2013.

At 10:00 PM, 48 HOURS: "Long Island Serial Killer" was also first with adults 25-54 (1.3/04) - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news - as well as viewers (4.63m), households (3.3/06) and adults 18-49 (0.8/03).

Saturday's broadcast of "Long Island Serial Killer" featured new information uncovered by Erin Moriarty and the 48 HOURS team into the death of Shannan Gilbert, a young escort found dead in a Long Island marsh in 2011. The search for Gilbert's body led police to locating a serial killer's graveyard. The broadcast included new information into frantic 911 call Gilbert made the night she vanished and the first broadcast network interview with the lead investigator in the Long Island Serial Killer case.

"Long Island Serial Killer" was the second of two broadcasts in a 48 HOURS double feature. The first, "Secrets, Lies & Alibis" (R) was the #1 program at 9:00 PM with adults 25-54, adults 18-49, viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. 48 HOURS 9:00 PM (R) (9:00-10:00PM) posted a 2.8/05 with 3.96m, and a 1.0/03 in adults 25-54 and a 0.6/03 with adults 18-49. 48 HOURS 9:00 PM was the night's #2 program in households and viewers, behind 48 HOURS.
