"Shark After Dark" Beats All Cable Talk Competitiors in Total Viewers and Key Demos on Monday

"SHARK AFTER DARK" BEATS ALL CABLE TALK COMPETITIORS IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND KEY DEMOS ON MONDAY

Discovery Channel Also #1 In ALL OF TELEVISION In Prime Time Among Men on August 5

Discovery Channel's late night live talk show during SHARK WEEK, Shark After Dark, hosted by comedian Josh Wolf, earned 1.16 HH/0.86 P25-54 and 1.63 million total viewers P2+ delivery at 11PM ET/PT on Monday, August 5. The telecast beat Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, BRAVO's Watch What Happens Live, and E!'s Chelsea Lately, which was guest hosted by Lindsay Lohan, in total viewers P2+, HH, Women 18-49, Persons 25-54/18-49 and Men 25-54/18-49.

Discovery Channel also ranked as the #1 non-sports network in ALL OF TELEVISION during Prime Time on Monday among Men 18-49/18-34 delivery (excluding sports). Discovery was also the #1 cable network among Persons and Men 25-54 and Men 18-49/18-34 delivery during Monday Prime Time.

Monday's Return of Jaws and Voodoo Sharks were the #1 and #2 non-sports telecasts in cable respectively among Men 25-54 and Men 18-49 delivery (excluding sports). Return of Jaws earned a 2.29HH/1.97 P25-54 and 3.39 million total viewers P2+ delivery. Voodoo Sharks earned a 2.26HH/1.94 P25-54 and 3.42 million total viewers P2+ delivery. The specials beat multiple broadcast programs in M25-54 delivery, including: NBC's Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls and American Ninja Warrior, CBS's 2 Broke Girls, and ABC's The Bachelorette. In addition, the specials out-delivered several notable cable programs including History's American Pickers and A&E's Longmire.

SHARK WEEK continues to dominate social media, with Shark Week trending on Twitter on Sunday and Monday across more than a dozen hashtags and terms. In the first two and a half days of SHARK WEEK 2013, more than 1.6M Tweets have been generated (equal to the volume of social buzz during Shark Week 2012) and more than 5.6M related interactions have taken place on Facebook.

Shark After Dark guests on Tuesday, August 6 will include Mark Cuban (Shark Tank) and actors Tara Reid and Ian Ziering (Sharknado). SHARK WEEK continues with new specials on Tuesday night with I Escaped Jaws at 9PM ET/PT and Spawn of Jaws at 10PM ET/PT.
