Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC, CMA Awards Overshadow the Competition

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/6/13):

ABC (16.630 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1) overshadowed the competition with its telecast of "The 47th Annual CMA Awards" (16.630 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1).

CBS (9.255 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) then was king of the leftovers with its mix of "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" (9.217 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2), "Criminal Minds" (9.628 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (8.921 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #4).

Next up was FOX (4.510 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) with new episodes of "The X Factor" (4.551 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5) and a second "The X Factor" (4.469 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.097 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) served up first-runs of "Revolution" (5.217 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T7), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (5.618 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5) and a special "Dateline NBC" (4.456 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9).

And finally, originals from "Arrow" (2.736 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10) and "The Tomorrow People" (1.596 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) on The CW (2.166 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.9 rating while "Tomorrow" posted a 0.3 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.7/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.0/5.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.6/6 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/7/12):

NBC (9.30 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.2, #1) rose to the top spot with a special Wednesday edition of "The Voice" (10.41 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.7, #2) followed by a new "Chicago Fire" (7.09 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T9) - a series high.

ABC (8.01 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of "The Middle" (9.10 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.8, #5), "The Neighbors" (6.98 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.1, #11), "Modern Family" (12.29 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1), "Suburgatory" (7.64 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.9, #4) and "Nashville" (6.01 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 2.0, #12).

Next up was CBS (10.86 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3) with originals from "Survivor: Philippines" (10.26 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.7, #T6), "Criminal Minds" (12.03 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.0, #3) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.31 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T9).

Meanwhile, FOX (6.99 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.6, #4) fell to fourth place despite new episodes of "The X Factor" (6.92 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 2.5, #8) and "The X Factor" (7.06 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.7, #T6).

And finally, new episodes of "Arrow" (3.69 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.3, #13) - matching its series high - and "Supernatural" (2.32 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.0, #14) - equalling its season high - on The CW (3.01 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5) closed out the night.
