"The Tonight Show," "Late Night" Continue Dominance Over Timeslot Competition

"THE TONIGHT SHOW," "LATE NIGHT" CONTINUE DOMINANCE OVER TIMESLOT COMPETITION

Leno, Fallon Outdeliver CBS, ABC Programming in All Key Categories for Week of Jan. 6-10

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Jan. 16, 2014 - "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" have ruled the broadcast competition for the week of Jan. 6-10, delivering bigger audiences than their ABC and CBS time-period rivals in every key ratings category - adults, men and women, 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

Versus the same week last, "The Tonight Show" is up 5% in viewers 18-49 (to 1.091 million from 1.038 million) and up 12% in total viewers (3.909 million vs. 3.486 million). "Late Night" is up versus the same week last year by 25% in viewers 18-49 (777,000 vs. 621,000) and up 27% in total viewers (2.013 million vs. 1.591 million).

"Last Call with Carson Daly" at 1:35 a.m. ET is up versus the year-ago week by 8% in viewers 18-49 (386,000 vs. 359,000) and 10% in total viewers (925,000 vs. 841,000).

In total viewers, this was the top week for "Late Night" since Thanksgiving week (2.131 million) and the top week with no boost from an NFL overrun since the week of Dec. 17-21, 2012 (2.029 million).

Season to date, "The Tonight Show" is off to its biggest start 16 weeks into a new TV season in three years in 18-49 viewers and total viewers. Fallon is delivering his biggest 18-49 audience 16 weeks into the season in three years and his top total-viewer average in the five years he's been hosting "Late Night."

Versus the first 16 weeks of the year-ago season, Leno is up 7% in 18-49 viewers (with 1.130 million vs. 1.052 million) and up 8% in total viewers (3.827 million vs. 3.543 million). Fallon is up 17% in 18-49 viewers (792,000 vs. 677,000) so far this season and up 14% in total viewers (1.952 million vs. 1.705 million).

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is also delivering sizable gains versus the first 16 weeks of last season, up 18% in 18-49 viewers (433,000 vs. 366,000) and up 11% in total viewers (969,000 vs. 871,000).

"Tonight" has now delivered bigger 18-49 audiences than "Late Show" for the last 60 weeks in a row and topped "Kimmel" for 49 of their 53 head-to-head weeks. In total viewers, Leno has out-delivered "Late Show" for 64 weeks in a row and "Kimmel" for 53 of 53 weeks.

Fallon has now generated bigger 18-49 audiences than "Late Late Show" for 65 of the last 66 weeks and prevailed in total viewers for 62 of the last 64 weeks. Versus "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour, Fallon has outdelivered the ABC series for 53 of 53 weeks in viewers 18-49 and 48 of 50 weeks in total viewers.
