"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (9-10pm - 5.1 million and 2.0/6 in AD18-49):

Shifting to 9pm for one week, ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doubled its lead-in (+100% over an encore of the prior week's episode), surging 18% over its week-ago Fast Affiliate Adult 18-49 rating (2.0/6 vs. 1.7/6) and up 5% over its National rating (1.9/6). The show equaled a 5-week high in Adults 18-49 - since 3/11/14. Please Note: Each of its last 2 telecasts of the show have gone up 2-tenths of a rating point from the Fast Affiliate to the L+SD National ratings, and, so far this season, originals have gone up 14 times from the morning to the afternoon - rising 2-tenths 3 times now and going up 1-tenth 11 times. In the hour, the ABC freshman drama ran neck-and-neck with CBS' veteran NCIS: LA for #1 in Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 2.1/6), while beating NBC's comedies by 18% (1.7/5 - About a Boy/Growing Up Fisher) and Fox's comedies by 82% (1.1/3 - New Girl/The Mindy Project).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 47% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year- to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
