New York [For Immediate Release - August 1, 2014] HGTV achieved its highest-rated July ever, delivering an average prime rating of .54 among P25-54 viewers. During its record-breaking July performance, HGTV's prime rating grew 8% among P25-54 viewers and 9% among W25-54 over last year, once again cementing the network's status as the #1 cable network among upscale W25-54. The network also ranked as the #7 cable network among viewers P25-54 and #2 among W25-54 - its highest monthly cable rankings in network history.

"HGTV has broken ratings records for three consecutive months and we have no plans to take our feet off the accelerator," said Kathleen Finch, president, HGTV and DIY Network. "With upcoming premieres like My Big Family Renovation featuring blogger Jen Hatmaker and celeb series in the pipeline like Ellen's Design Challenge with Ellen DeGeneres and Mark & Derek's Excellent Flip with Mark Ballas and Derek Hough, we've proven that we are the best in the business at delivering the entertaining lifestyle programming that attracts the coveted viewers advertisers want to reach. Our team is entirely focused on developing, producing and promoting content that will fuel this ratings momentum."

Several HGTV series garnered their highest ratings ever in July, including Flip or Flop, Beachfront Bargain Hunt and Flipping the Block. Flip or Flop, starring SoCal house flippers, Tarek El Moussa and his wife Christina, scored a series high rating in July with a 1.07 rating among P25-54 viewers and finished its second season as one of the network's top-rated programs, garnering P25-54 ratings that were a 43% higher than the first season. Flipping the Block, featuring HGTV and DIY Network stars Josh Temple (House Crashers), Nicole Curtis (Rehab Addict) and Scott McGillivray (Income Property), helped propel HGTV's July ratings to record levels. The series premiered on Tuesday, July 20, with .81 rating among viewers P25-54 - making it one of HGTV's best series premieres ever. Fan-favorite Beachfront Bargain Hunt also scored a series high rating in July, earning a .92 among P25-54 viewers.
