Friday's Broadcast Ratings: "Shark Tank" Powers ABC to Another Demo Victory

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/10/14):

ABC (6.295 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) was the top draw on Friday thanks to week two of "Last Man Standing" (6.557 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4), the premiere of "Cristela" (6.568 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T2) and originals from "Shark Tank" (7.226 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "20/20" (5.096 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4).

CBS (8.655 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then claimed the silver with its lineup of "The Amazing Race" (5.967 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #7), "Hawaii Five-0" (9.170 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (10.828 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4).

Next up was NBC (4.368 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with encores of "Bad Judge" (3.579 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and "A to Z" (2.235 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12) followed by a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.098 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #8).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.715 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) served up a new "Utopia" (1.866 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and a repeat "Gotham" (1.564 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T14).

And finally, The CW (1.277 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the evening with a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.539 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.496 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12) and a new "America's Next Top Model" (1.037 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T14). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.4, 0.4 and 0.6 rating, respectively.

·In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

·From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

·From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

·At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/11/13):

CBS (9.029 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) was back in front on Friday with its mix of "Undercover Boss" (7.815 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5), "Hawaii Five-0" (9.082 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (10.192 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2).

ABC (5.420 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was a close second place with its lineup of "Last Man Standing" (5.860 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6), "The Neighbors" (4.126 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #9), "Shark Tank" (6.410 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) and "20/20" (4.856 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).

Next up was NBC (4.441 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) with encores of "The Michael J. Fox Show" (2.842 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) and "Sean Saves the World" (2.831 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) followed by a new two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.244 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.999 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) offered up a new "MasterChef Junior" (3.778 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) alongside a repeat of "Sleepy Hollow" (2.221 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, a rebroadcast of "The Tomorrow People" (1.087 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) and a new "America's Next Top Model" (1.134 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) closed out the night on The CW (1.110 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).
